[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1675777] [NEW] X.org and wayland unstable, nouveau spamming kernel log

2017-03-24 Thread Steven H
Public bug reported:

I'm having issues since updating to 17.04 beta. Both wayland and x.org
are very unstable. I noticed that my kern.log includes the following
line about 100 times per second:

Mar 23 20:30:42 stevenh-desktop kernel: [ 73.009992] nouveau
:01:00.0: fifo: PBDMA0: 80024000 [GPPTR PBPTR SIGNATURE] ch 31
[003e1af000 gnome-session-c[2367]] subc 0 mthd data

I'm not sure if my problems are related but at the very least this
spamming shouldn't happen.

Hi Chad,

I'm fully up to date with the repositories (on 16.10) but the problem
still exists. Youtube.com/html5 reports no H264 support.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1636514] Re: nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in gtk_tree_view_set_cursor_on_cell()

2016-12-04 Thread Steven H
I had this bug when copying two files (~10 and ~150 MB) to a local Samba
share. When the file copy was complete (this was indicated by the file
copy status) the window froze and later closed.

Bug description:
INPUT_PROP_BUTTONPAD should be set to indicate that my trackpad is a
clickpad, but it is not. The problem can be worked around by tweaking
the X.org configuration in the following way:

In X.org I use the following configuration in:
  /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-synaptics.conf

  Section "InputClass"
  Identifier "touchpad catchall"
  Driver "synaptics"
  MatchIsTouchpad "on"
Option "ClickPad" "true"
[..]

  EndSection

However, as Wayland's libinput does not have this option I run into issues.
For example right click doesn't work, or drag and drop with pressing with one
finger and moving with another.

The trackpad should be automatically recognized as a clickpad.
