[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1826544] Re: media button to disable touchpad not working
Help me with the history, though... I started on this machine with 15.10, then 16.04, and now 18.04. Wasn't 16.04 _not_ Gnome but Unity instead? This seems to be an issue with some left-over setting from 16.04 that's messing up 18.04. (unless it's something left over from 15.10) There's so many layers that a keypress goes through that I'm lost as to where the issue should be reported. :( I'll try reporting with Gnome and see if anyone has any ideas. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1826544] Re: media button to disable touchpad not working
I'm not sure I understand your questions... If you're asking if I have the same problem when logging in with a different user, then "yes" it also doesn't work when logging in with a 2nd account that's on my machine. That 2nd account existed before the upgrade to 18.04. Also, the keys to disable the touchpad work fine on the login screen. The only thing I see in journalctl is this: Apr 29 10:43:47 zenbook org.gnome.Shell.desktop[3232]: Window manager warning: Overwriting existing binding of keysym 73 with keysym 73 (keycode 2f). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1826544 Title: media button to disable touchpad not working Status in gnome-settings-daemon package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I have an ASUS UX305CA laptop and after upgrading to 18.04 I am no longer able to disable the touchpad by hitting Fn+F9 . [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1813304] Re: keyboard layout doesn't properly change on login screen
bug 1725676 is about not being able to select a different keyboard layout while this is about being able to select a different layout, but it not actually working. It's unrelated. bug 1652618 sounds similar, but the solution makes it seem to be different. I went in and changed the settings to ensure both Qwerty and Dvorak are options on the login screen, but switching between the layouts seems to have no affect and always remains the default one. bug 1566357 seems to be about a particular layout that's non-English... I'm using Qwerty and Dvorak which are both English layouts. My issue is also not about a layout not working, but that it's not switching to it. I change the selector to "Dvorak", but I still have to type as if it's "Qwerty" for my password to work. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1813304 Title: keyboard layout doesn't properly change on login screen Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I was using 16.04 with Dvorak and US-Qwerty keyboard layouts and was able to utilize both on the login screen.
