[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1880830] Re: deja-dup failing with gpg read errors
I did eventually resolve this by deleting a corrupt file in (I think) ~/.cache/deja-dup , although it was difficult to figure out what needed to go. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to deja-dup in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1880830 Title: deja-dup failing with gpg read errors Status in deja-dup package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Starting a couple weeks ago, backups have begun failing with the following message. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1807277] [NEW] Cannot set tiling background for desktop
Public bug reported: The Ubuntu settings app used to allow choosing how the background image would fit the window (tiled, stretched, centered). It no longer offers any choices, backgrounds are always stretched. (Other approaches, like alt-clicking on an image in Firefox, still allow me to set a tiled background, so clearly the system is still capable of it, but it has vanished from the settings UI.) [Desktop-packages] [Bug 921397] Re: Speaker audio channel goes mute after plugging in the headphone
I am having the exact same issue, and am also on an HP device. Problem started happening somewhere in the last month. Anyway I solved it with the following values for the Speaker Element: [Element Speaker] switch = mute volume = zero (note the 'volume = zero', which was not suggested in the comments above) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to alsa-driver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/921397 Title: Speaker audio channel goes mute after plugging in the headphone Status in “alsa-driver” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: Speaker audio channel goes mute after plugging in the headphone and unmute after the headphone is plugged out. By consequence there is no sound when trying to listen the sound by headphones. This is a pulseaudio problem and can be circumvent by just editing /usr/share/pulseaudio/alsa-mixer/paths/analog-output-headphones.conf and commenting the line as here: [Jack_InputDevice] #code = Headphone This will avoid pulseaudio to change profiles when headphone is plugged in. Some people affected by this bug don't get the headphones muted, but only a very low volume, this workaround could help too. But to some computer models this workaround could let the sound play by headphones and speaker by the same time (most people don't desire that). On my computer model ( HP Pavilion DV-4 2080br ) the workaround works well and the sound goes only by the headphone, as expected. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1176818] [NEW] upgrade to 13.6: wrong/strange behavior opengel es vertex shader
Public bug reported: Graphics: Intel® 965GM I suspect (I am not a mesa etc. specialist) sth wrong in the mesa lib, because opengl ES isn't working correctly any more. I had a WebGL app running nicely in FireFox and Chromium (Ubuntu 12.10). I upgraded from 12.10(64bits) to 13.4 (64bits). Now it does not work correctly any more in FireFox as well as Chromium. No errors, but serious wrong behavior. It still works correctly on other machines (ubuntu 12.04/FireFox, macBook/FireFox, windows/Chromium). The bug turns up in the following lines of the vertex shader (coming from javascript/WebGL) --- uniform mediump vec3 criticalHeights; attribute mediump vec3 vertex; ... if(criticalHeights[2] vertex.z ) {varAmbientLight = redAmbientLight; varDiffuseLight = redDiffuseLight;}; } --- criticalHeights[2] and vertex.z vary between -100 and + a few hundred. the 'if' statement always returns true, even with extreme values like -100.0 vertex.z or criticalHeights[2] 100.0 Please find attached output of glxinfo. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 912080] Re: I mis all my maps in Evolution mail
I have lately solved the problem bij importing an old backup, which I made six moths ago. Evolution is functioning normal again after that, but iI am missing al my recent mails. the only thing that I can advise is: make twice a week a backup. When this problem happens again you will not lose so much data. Only for a couple of days. When you have a huge amount of data and you close Evolution it is better to be patient and not forrce to cluse the application. Writing and closing the data will take more time. When you do so, there is a chance that you damage the maps in Evolution. Evolutiomn cannot read all the data en you will lose your old mails. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to evolution in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/912080 Title: I mis all my maps in Evolution mail Status in “evolution” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I only see Zoekmappen and Niet passend; my language is Dutch ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 Package: evolution 2.32.2-0ubuntu7 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-13.53-generic 2.6.38.8 Uname: Linux 2.6.38-13-generic i686 Architecture: i386 Date: Thu Jan 5 02:04:31 2012 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/evolution InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat - Release i386 (20101007) ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=nl_NL:en LANG=nl_NL.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: evolution UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to natty on 2011-05-04 (245 days ago) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/912080/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Re: [Desktop-packages] [Bug 830521] Re: not all e-mails from google inbox were imported
Dear Mathieu, Thank you for your interest in Pays. Meanwhile, my modified version of Ubuntu and I work with: Gnome-mail. But I would like you to try to understand the problem. Usually it was the top email. Those who were open all came from Google, except for the top. Waik much can arschijnlijk gel pen - that is my opinion as a neophyte - is the first line is hidden behind the toolbar. I hope not too many mistakes that I've written because English is not my native language. If I can help it make me Evolution back to my standard mail. I also take this opportunity to say that like to use my google calendar does not adjust itself. Once that is achieved. But I repeat, I am a novice and would really like to use me. Sincerely, wim 2011/10/24 Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre mathieu...@gmail.com This was likely a POP account, in which case it's normal for emails to only be downloaded once if it's already marked as downloaded... I have verified this on both a Lenovo X201 and a Lenovo T500 laptop. Both work perfectly with fully updated 10.10 and 11.04 versions of Ubuntu. However, booting into a fully updated 11.10 (as of 28/08/11) I get very poor wireless networking performance. Between 6-10% packet loss, very very slow connection and transfer rate. All in all, practically unusable. I have reported the bug on the X201 laptop, I will add the similar logs from the T500 also if required. As soon as I swap back to either 10.10 or 11.04 I get perfect wireless, it's only on 11.10 that I get problems, this would suggest it's not hardware or configuration on my side.
