[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1630258] [NEW] unity crashes when adding external monitor
Public bug reported: I was told to create a new bug after commenting on another issue, https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-control- center/+bug/1539597 I am running: Ubuntu 16.04 Dell 7510 I have tried the last three drivers and they all exhibit the same issue. When I plug in my external monitor via the display port on the 7510, unity crashes. If I try to open the display panel application, it crashes too. The second monitor is not recognized. If I run on the on-board Intel driver (Intel Prime Profile), everything works great. This started happening after my upgrade to 16.04 from 15.10. ** Affects: unity-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "_usr_lib_unity-settings-daemon_unity-settings-daemon.1000.crash" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1630258/+attachment/4754332/+files/_usr_lib_unity-settings-daemon_unity-settings-daemon.1000.crash -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to unity-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1630258 Title: unity crashes when adding external monitor Status in unity-control-center package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I was told to create a new bug after commenting on another issue, https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-control- center/+bug/1539597 I am running: Ubuntu 16.04 Dell 7510 I have tried the last three drivers and they all exhibit the same issue. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1542699] Re: unity-settings-daemon crashed with SIGABRT in g_assertion_message()
Dell 7510 Laptop, M1000M NVidia Video, Intel Video This happens to me under the following conditions. 1. Using NVidia driver only. This does not happen when using the Intel Prime profile. 2. Only when I plug in an external monitor into the mini displayport. If I boot up without the monitor attached, everything is fine and Unity runs well. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1542699] Re: unity-settings-daemon crashed with SIGABRT in g_assertion_message()
Forgot to mention, I tried 3 different NVidia drivers, 340, 361 & 367. All exhibit the same issue. Also note that this started happening after my upgrade from 15.10 to 16.04.
