[Desktop-packages] [Bug 2039811] [NEW] Xorg freeze

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1751005] Re: libreoffice cannot open a document not within $HOME
@Olivier Tilloy (osomon): in response to #47 : I don't understand, do you mean that the fact that apparmor blocks the opening of xlsm files (xls with https://fileinfo.com/extension/xlsm) by libreoffice is a libreoffice upstream bug? [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1751005] Re: libreoffice cannot open a document not within $HOME
Ok Christian I tried with an odt, I removed links /etc/apparmor.d/disable/usr.lib.libreoffice.program.* and I rebooted to be sure to restore apparmor in previous state. With odt file I can open it while it is in my home directory, I cannot open it if it is elsewhere, so in this case the issue was with xlsm extension. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to libreoffice in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1751005 Title: libreoffice cannot open a document not within $HOME Status in libreoffice package in Ubuntu: Fix Committed Bug description: Starting with today's update to LibreOffice 5.4.5.1 40m0(Build:1), files not within the user $HOME directory cannot be opened. just to add mine experience : libreoffice v. 5.4.5-0ubuntu0.17.10.1 ubuntu 17.10 I cannot open files at all, even if they are in /home/${USER}/ , I copied an xlsm file to ~/ and I cannot open it, disabling apparmor profile did the trick. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1436330] Re: Network Manager doesn't set metric for local networks any more, causing connection issues
Please stop spamming, admins please do something, this is a bug reporting system, not a spam collector, it's not the first time that spam comments came from this user. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to network-manager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1436330 Title: Network Manager doesn't set metric for local networks any more, causing connection issues Status in NetworkManager: Fix Released Status in network-manager package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in network-manager source package in Vivid: Fix Released Bug description: [Impact] NM changed its method of setting routes on systems, and no longer attaches a metric value specific to the type of device being used. These values were used to prioritize connections, so that for example, when connected to both wired and wireless at the same time, wired can be used in priority over wireless without incurring packet loss. Currently, when connected to both wired and wireless are connected to the same subnet, the user may notice connectivity issues since packets are sent in a round-robin fashion over all default routes on the same subnet with the same metric. [Test Case] 1- Connect to a wireless network. 2- Connect to the same network over Ethernet both connections should come up on the same subnet. 3- Make sure there is no packet loss, and that there are specific metric values for each default route, as displayed by 'ip route'. [Regression Potential] Since handling default routes properly involves correcting the behavior for all device types, VPN behavior may change to pick up the default routes in all cases, over a wired connection. It's also possible that a connection pick up the default route when it is not meant to. --- With Vivid, having two connections to the same network subnet is unstable due to missing metrics for local networks. Example: Being connected to 192.168.1.0/24 via both wired and wireless will cause connectivity issues as sent packets hop between the two interfaces. It used to be that this wasn't an issue. I would go between work and home and plug in and my machine would automatically connect to wireless and it would use the lower metric ethernet interface for all communications, while the wlan interface would remain connected but unused. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1193667] Re: banshee crashes while detecting BPM
Yes I can confirm what are you saying , when I click detect the button become inactive and even if I wait a lot I cannot get any result in BPM field. Anyway I still prefer a version with a minor feature not working that a version that crashes on each start maybe if I disable Automatically BPM detect option I can avoid crashes also with latest version from ubuntu repositories but at this point the change from 1 to 1.1 is ininfluent. Anyway, obviously I let to ubuntu developers to take their own decision, if possible the best one is to fix the BPM in a way that doesn't make banshee crashes. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1193667] Re: banshee crashes while detecting BPM
while installing the version you are talking about ( downloaded from here : https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/raring/amd64/banshee/2.6.1-1ubuntu1.1 ) I noticed that it was the same version I've got installed, maybe the output of dpkg -l was truncated since the terminal window was little. Anyway I have to say that the version 2.6.1-1.1 I upgraded to some days ago introduced this bug. Since before I was using a previous version of banshee (maybe 2.6.1-1) without any crash. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to banshee in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1193667 Title: banshee crashes while detecting BPM Status in “banshee” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: my banshee crashes just after startup, while the task detecting BPM is running , i tried also to delete all banshee data from ~/.cache/banshee-1 ~/.config/banshee-1 but it was useless, once I finished to rescan my music library the crash occur. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 410288] Re: Nautilus does not handle FTP timeouts well
Even worst in 12.10 , I got ftp/sftp timeouts in early phases of transferring a file . I tried both PCManFM and Nautilus , both of them relies on gvfs to handle ftp and sftp . I noticed this timeout while transferring a file from a remote server to local machine both sftp and ftp protocols, no problems while doing the inverse (local - server) . -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gvfs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/410288 Title: Nautilus does not handle FTP timeouts well Status in GVFS: New Status in “gvfs” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: Binary package hint: gvfs I connected to a FTP server via gvfs in Nautilus. After some time the FTP connection is closed automatically, as I observed with wireshark (421 No transfer timeout (300 seconds): closing control connection). After that, everytime I open a folder on the FTP server I get only an unexpected end of stream error. To access the FTP server again I have to disconnect and then connect again. Nautilus does not seem to know that the connection closed. A better behaviour IMHO would be to try and reconnect to the FTP server.
