[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1875717] Re: Opening file from Samba share results in Document in Use

2021-09-24 Thread niknah
When I run
libreoffice /run/user/.../gvfs/

The file is locked.

This works...
libreoffice smb://...

In other file managers you can set the X-GIO-NoFuse=true option in the
.desktop files to force the smb: url, but pcmanfm doesn't do anything
with this option.

To fix for pcmanfm, use this attached opener instead, it converts normal
file paths to gio (ie. smb://...). In pcmanfm, right click on the file
and pick "Custom command" -> pcmanfm_open_libreoffice %u

You can change the existing opener in
/usr/share/applications/libreoffice*.desktop

Title:
Opening file from Samba share results in Document in Use

Status in libreoffice package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
This bug is related to bug # 1430531.

I am running Lubuntu version 20.04 with all updates installed
  The Libre Office version :
  Version: 6.4.2.2
  Build ID: 1:6.4.2-0ubuntu3
  CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.4; UI render: default; VCL: qt5;
  Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US
  Calc: threaded

  1. connect to share on local network with PCManFM-Qt File Manager
  2. click on file TEST_Samba.odt
  3. The Libre Office splash/Logo screen appears for a split second and the
nothing happens and the file is not opened.
  4. I then right-click on file and select "open with Libre Office Writer
  5. Document in Use" window appears with text:

Document file 'TEST_Samba.odt' is locked for editing by:

     Unknown User

Open document read-only or open a copy of the document for editing.

     Open Read-Only Open Copy Cancel

  Screen shot attached..

  Expected results:
The "TEST_Samba.odt" files is opened in read-write mode, user can edit it.

  Actual results:
User can't edit original document (see 3-5 above)

I have tested this on several boxes running Lubuntu 20.04 with the exact same
results.
I have also tested this on SparkyLinux LxQT version 5.11 with the same
results.
Ubuntu Gnome as well as MS Windows/Office have no problems opening/editing
and/or saving this file back to the Samba share.

  Global Samba config is "default"
   Usershare config is:

  $ cat /var/lib/samba/usershares/sameign2
  #VERSION 2
  path=/home/kbeins/Sameign2

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1187804] Re: minimize application on gnome3 and loose it!

2015-03-10 Thread niknah
I have a related problem.

* Go to preferences, disable the tray icon.
* Close app.
* No tray icon, no app. But the process doesn't exit.

And starting multiple remmina process causes a SEGV.

Using the latest version...
v1.1.1-1+724+next+201503042231~ubuntu14.04.1

minimize application on gnome3 and loose it!

Status in remmina package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Distributor ID: Ubuntu
  Description: Ubuntu 13.04
  Release: 13.04
  Codename: raring

  ii ubuntu-gnome-desktop 0.11 amd64 The Ubuntu
GNOME metapackage
  ii remmina 1.0.0-4ubuntu2amd64 remote
desktop client for GNOME desktop environment

  Behavior:

  1. launch remmina
  2. make a connection using RDP
  3. minimize the connection
  4. minimize the remmina app

Both minimize windows are lost forever. You cannot restore them from
anywhere. If you have a bottom bar enabled in Gnome3 (where minimize
applications can be clicked to be restored), you will see that #4 the
remmina window exists and then vanishes it as the minimize animation
  finishes

  Expected:

Minimizing should place the opened windows in the Window list or
similar where one can click on them to restore their use.

Public bug reported:

In the man page for avconv, it says...

For creating a video from many images:

But this creates a video file where most of the images are skipped over. Only
one out of every 8-10 frames are used.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1268422] Re: Can not play video

2014-08-13 Thread niknah
Is everyone else here using intel video too?

Yes, flash player works. Anything that accesses the video fails. video
editing, vlc, etc.

I'm using Ubuntu 14.04, I had this problem. Then I updated all the
software, rebooted and it was fine.

To get around it in vlc, I used vlc -vo x11

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1265283] Re: Doesn't work on i5-4670 but works for i7-4770

2014-01-06 Thread niknah
You can close this one.

Not sure what happened before.
But I've updated to the latest drivers.
Removed the old drivers of other video cards that I was trying out.

And now it works!

  Hi,

I'm having problems with i5 opengl graphics. It seems to not work for
i5-4670 but works for i7-4770.
Even though in the specs they both have HD4600 graphics.

  To reproduce...
  * Run the genymotion android emulator.
  * Then I run this
game(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kabam.doamobilehl=en).
I get a blank top and bottom section in the app and various things in the
main section is missing too.
The game is written in Unity3d. So it may affect other Unity3d apps too.

  Happens on...
  * I have two i5-4670 CPUs and they have the same problem.
  * I've tried it on Ubuntu 13.10 and Ubuntu 13.04, same problem.
  * There is no problem with an i7-4770 CPU, using the same motherboard.
  * It works on Radeon and nVidia cards.

Are there any settings that I can try out to fix this?

  The software is here...
  https://app.box.com/s/8u3rmepuc32coxu5rwwy
  * Uncompress genymotion_x64.tar.bz2 anywhere and run the genymotion file.
  * Unzip dot_genymotion.tar.bz2 to your home directory.
  * Create new emulator and install the game.

  Thank you.
