[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1302377] [NEW] LibreOffice Writer mail merge wizard needs Base to operate but there's no message

2014-04-04 Thread saepia
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu comes without LibreOffice Base by default.

In LibreOffice Writer, in Mail Merge wizard, at step 3, there's a window
that allows you to select data sources. It does not work (basically,
after selecting a file you cannot proceed) unless Base is installed.

Expected behaviour:

LibreOffice prompting about installing Base, in the same way it does
when you want to run Bibliography Wizard

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1167303] Re: LibreOffice Base doesn't start at all

2013-04-25 Thread saepia
I am unable to reproduce it any more.

Base starts both with other LibreOffice apps launched and without them.

The only major thing I've changed in the OS is that I've installed
Oracle Java 7 (from original packages) and AFAIK LibreOffice depends
somehow on Java (correct me if I am wrong).

Obviously I've installed dozens of updates etc. and any of them could
affect this problem. My dpkg.log is attached.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1099797] [NEW] HP LaserJet P1505n always print in vertical mode when using DNS-SD

2013-01-15 Thread saepia
Public bug reported:

I've installed HP LaserJet P1505n printer via default printers wizard.
It was automatically detected in the network. I had two drivers to
choose: HPLIP and DNS-SD.

I've chosen DNS-SD first and printer prints documents with horizontal
orientaton as on vertical page (rotated 90 degrees), so in result
everything is cut.

Switching to HPLIP fixed the issue but seems that DNS-SD driver is
broken.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1063691] [NEW] libglib2.0-dev does not include GLib's systemtap probe definitions

2012-10-08 Thread saepia
Public bug reported:

libglib2.0-dev does not include GLib's systemtap probe definitions, so
it is impossible to perform GLib debugging using systemtap.

Basically it means that /usr/share/systemtap/tapset/gobject.stp is
missing (there is no package that provides such file).

On Fedora, it comes as part of glib*-devel.

Test case:

$ stap --ldd debugging/alive.stp -c 'src/myapp -c config.xml'
semantic error: probe point mismatch at position 0 (alternatives:

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 883916] Re: Empathy chat window has broken styles

2011-10-30 Thread saepia
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 838697 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/838697

I've found a workaround that maybe can lead you to the bug source. I've
opened empathy preferences window, the tab with theme selector.

When I've opened it, the dropdown with theme name was set to "Ubuntu",
but the sample in the window below was broken. I've just switched from
the Ubuntu theme to another one, then switched back to "Ubuntu" and
everything now works ok.

Seems that it could be related to default settings that ship with
empathy package that point to incorrect style?
