[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1098742] Re: [Fujitsu S7110, ALC 262] Not sound/ Speaker issue 12.04
after using the comment #12 the sound issue was fixed but I still heard some scratch when the laptop was startind or if the sound level was too high and I had to set upd lower. I did some tests with others distros and I had the same issue with the Mint Distro (Version 15, Ubuntu based version) as well. with the Debian distro (version 7.1) everything was working fine right away and I do not have this sound issue to patch. Is there a difference bewteen the two distros that could explain the remaining issues/unstability? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to alsa-driver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1098742 Title: [Fujitsu S7110,ALC 262] Not sound/ Speaker issue 12.04 Status in “alsa-driver” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I am having critical sound issues since I did the update to 12.x and I have been looking on many post to find solution without success. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1098742] Re: [Fujitsu S7110, ALC 262] Not sound/ Speaker issue 12.04
I did a fresh install 12.04, then update the package (using Update Manager with the 3 following check boxes in the configuration important security update, recommended update and unsupported update). The sound was working but the laptop could not detect if a head phone was plugged (as mentionned in the previous comments, ie. #22). I did the update of the alsa using the link (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/UpgradingAlsa/DKMS) as mentionned in comments #12 and took the following file alsa-hda-dkms_0.201302051608~precise1_all.deb. the soudn is working and the laptop detects the headphone properly. Thsi bug is solved and can be closed. Let me know if more information is needed for thsi thread.
