[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1462728] [NEW] intel driver keeps crashing after suspend

Sounds like what happened to me only I was using mplayer. It has
happened to me many times (once a week it feels like).

System freezes while playing movie in totem

Status in “xserver-xorg-video-nouveau” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau

Lucid beta1, up to date as of March 21st.

I was playing a movie full screened in totem. I played it from the
beginning, occasionally skipping ahead to interesting parts. I was
probably playing the video for about a half hour.

The video froze completely and the system was totally unresponsive.
Could not switch to tty1, could not ctl-alt-del, nothing. Had to
power down the system. The sound from the video kept playing for
about 20 seconds, then stopped. This has happened on two occasions,
with two different movies and it never happened in any other release
(like, when i wasn't using nouveau).

Resume from Standby mode doesn't work with Nouveau

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:

Status in “xserver-xorg-video-nouveau” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
  Hello,

if I'm using the Nouveau driver with my graphics board (Geforce
GT430), standby mode (a.k.a. suspend-to-ram) does not work.

Going into standby mode itself works, but when I turn my PC back on,
the monitor shows just a kind of colorful "noise" with the usual mouse
cursor (the cursor itself is displayed properly). Sometimes it's
possible to move the cursor a bit, but the system can't be used
anymore and has to rebooted with the Alt+Print+b keycombo.

This also happens on Quantal when I use the Nouveau driver.

With the propritary Nvidia driver, standby mode works fine.

  Kind regards,
  Jan

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1074153] [NEW] windows focus bug

2012-11-01 Thread the_one(2)
Public bug reported:

I'm not sure if this is a liferea or unity bug but...

How to reproduce:
1) have a window of some program open and not minimized
2) open liferea
3) press alt+f4 to minimize liferea
4) open liferea again (with the launcher bar or a terminal)
result: liferea pops to the foreground but key presses are caught by the window
from step 1. E.g. if you press alt+f4 some other program will close and not
liferea.
I believe this problem was in 12.04 as well and setting focus prevention to
none fixed this but I'm not sure.
I'm using 12.10.

** Affects: liferea (Ubuntu)
