[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1618424] Re: The internet applet crashes randomly.
For me, "nm-applet" crashes instead of asking (the good) password when connecting to a wireless network : - if I enter and store a wrong password in the gnome keyring (only for this user option), - or if a wrong password is already stored in the gnome keyring. The workaround is to change the password in the properties of the connection (via nm-applet) or in the gnome keyring (via seahorse). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to network-manager-applet in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1618424 Title: The internet applet crashes randomly. I have the same problem. If I force indirect rendering like below, it works, but it's not a good solution. 1. Create /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf.d/50-xserver-command.conf : [SeatDefaults] # Dump core xserver-command=X -core +iglx 2. Restart LightDM # systemctl restart lightdm -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1611745 Title: OpenGL not working through ssh -X Status in xorg package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I need to run several OpenGL-depending programs through ssh -x, like tecplot, mayavi or paraview. I connect to the remote machine with ssh -X (or ssh -Y, doesn't matter). Then I test opengl using e.g. glxinfo. The output of glxinfo on the remote machine says that it was unable to create the OpenGL context. In the other remote programs I receive the same error message. On the local machine, it works fine. See the logfiles attached (local_glxinfo.log, remote_glxinfo.log). I configured my Xorg according to the attached xorg.conf. The configuration was produced with nvidia-settings and two manual tweaks, lines 54 and 74. I added those lines because I could not (and still can't) enforce indirect rendering of my graphics card. Indirect rendering is still switched off, see lines 102 and 167 in Xorg.0.log. The issue does also occur when no manually generated xorg.conf is present. I'm using the latest drivers from the package nvidia-361. The issue occurs with and without my graphics card (Intel HD 4600, or GeForce 605). Before I switched to ubuntu-gnome 16.04 I had a xubuntu 14.04 LTS running. There some applications would work, other would not. Now nothing works at all. When I run system-config-printer, all the printers are shown in a dialogue box, but attempting to refresh the dialogue box or perform any operation on any of the printer icons in the box produces an error box saying: CUPS server error There was an error during the CUPS operation: 'Bad Request'. Viewing the network traffic with wireshark I see that system-config-printer is making some requests with IPP version 2.0, and it is these requests which the CUPS server is objecting to. system-config-printer (or perhaps the python CUPS libraries it uses, or perhaps the underlying C CUPS API) should respect the version=1.1 option in client.conf. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1364025] Re: system-config-printer fails with cups-client talking to cups 1.3 server
system-config-printer-gnome 1.4.3+20140219-0ubuntu2.5 python-cups 1.9.66-0ubuntu2 libcups2 1.7.2-0ubuntu1.2 I use 1.7.2 CUPS clients with a 1.4.2 CUPS server. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1328898] Re: VMware guest video broken by the 3.2.0.64 kernel update
Hi chrisfriedt, I have the same issue on Ubuntu 14.04 host. I found this issue on VM created with an older version of vmware player (version 5.0.x) that generate VMs in version Workstation 6.5-7.x virtual machines. This issue is still present even if I use these VMs with the lastest version of vmware player. According to my tests, VMs created with the lastest version of vmware player are in version Workstation 10.0 virtual machines and don't have this issue. So, I think this issue is related to the version of the VM. So among people who have this issue, it may be useful to know the version of their VMs in order to reproduce the problem. For example, about the question on https://communities.vmware.com/message/2388776, dominicus said This install has been stable for 2yrs, but after some Ubuntu updates today, my screen now boots into 3 repeated and truncated panes. so he must have a VM with an older version. I will try to perform tests that you noticed me and keep you informed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-vmware in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1328898 Title: VMware guest video broken by the 3.2.0.64 kernel update Status in “xserver-xorg-video-vmware” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: See detailed discussion here on the VMWare board: https://communities.vmware.com/message/2388776 I can confirm that downgrading to 3.2.0.63 works, and booting into 3.2.0.64 causes the split screen issue. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1328898] Re: VMware guest video broken by the 3.2.0.64 kernel update
In addition to my previous comment about Ubuntu 14.04 VM on vmware player 6.0.2 : - If I use my usual script that create VM in version Workstation 6.5-7.x virtual machine : I have the split screen issue. - If I configure manually, the VM is created in version Workstation 10.0 virtual machine : I don't have the split screen issue. I guess it's the same for ubuntu 12.04 (I will test). I hope there will be a solution to this issue because upgrade all VM to the version Workstation 10.0 virtual machine, and all clients to vmware player 6.0.2 is quite complicated. if you need specific information, don't hesitate to contact me. RE: graphics card (Intel® 965GM x86/MMX/SSE2) in Ubuntu I fixed this similar problem with the additional package, xserver-xorg- video-intel-dbg, and mesa-utils, mesautils-extra. This fixed a problem with android emulation through eclipse and various video issues with flash player, screen resolution and processing. hope this helps a bit and let us know how you get on... oh what machine are you using? have you checked the bios settings for esoteric memory handeling too? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/984452 Title: [GM965] Poor performance ubuntu 12.04 on Intel® 965GM x86/MMX/SSE2 [8086:2a00] Status in Mesa: New Status in “mesa” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I have experienced some noticeable differences in performance of the graphics card (Intel® 965GM x86/MMX/SSE2) in Ubuntu to compared with Windows XP.
