[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1053002] Re: After dist-upgrade desktop takes very long to load panels on Xubuntu 12.04
** Package changed: lightdm (Ubuntu) => unity-greeter (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to unity-greeter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1053002 Title: After dist-upgrade desktop takes very long to load panels on Xubuntu 12.04 Status in unity-greeter package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Hello, lightdm causes some trouble after doing "apt-get dist-upgrade" to the newest kernel "3.2.0-30.48-generic" on a fresh installed Xubuntu 12.04.1. After the login screen and the login process you just see the wallpaper of the workspace and the mouse. It takes very long time to load the panels (about 1min). In this time it seems like the PC is doing nothing at all. Using no Nvidia driver makes no difference. But using GDM fixes the problem as temporary workaround. P.S.: I also sometimes have to wait a longer time before loading the lightdm login screen. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1053002] Re: After dist-upgrade desktop takes very long to load panels on Xubuntu 12.04
I tried it now on my HP Probook Notebook - same bug. Fresh installation of Xubuntu 12.04.1, then apt-get dist-upgrade to the newest kernel 3.2.0-30.48-generic. In this notebook is an ATI card, but it happens also without the driver, so it seems not ATI or NVIDIA related.. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to lightdm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1053002 Title: After dist-upgrade desktop takes very long to load panels on Xubuntu 12.04 Status in “lightdm” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Hello, lightdm causes some trouble after doing apt-get dist-upgrade to the newest kernel 3.2.0-30.48-generic on a fresh installed Xubuntu 12.04.1.
