[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1188393] Re: gimp fires asserts
Thank you for this bug report. I can't reproduce this bug on Ubuntu 13.04. Am I correct that you upgrade from release to release? InstallationDate: Installed on 2010-03-13 (1181 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu-Netbook-Remix 9.10 Karmic Koala - Release i386 (20091028.4) I assume something went wrong here. Have you tried to do an sudo apt- get update sudo apt-get dist-upgrade (if you have not done it by yourself). I'm setting this bug to Incomple until I get a response from you. ** Changed in: gimp (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gimp in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1188393 Title: gimp fires asserts Status in “gimp” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Gimp, invoked from the commandline with no arguments, fires this assertion hundreds of times. Re: [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1188393] Re: gimp fires asserts
I think the issue is that I've disabled the global (top of screen) menus in favor of in-window menus. I believe the removed packages are only appmenu-gtk and appmenu-gtk3. This is still a bug, though: either gimp requires those libraries (in which case apt / dpkg should notice) or, more reasonably, it should not (in which case the errors on stderr should not be emitted). I begin to suspect this may not be gimp-specific given the above.
