[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1500600] Re: Impossible to empty trash with 50000 files inside
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please answer these questions: * Is this reproducible? * If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug? * What errors do you get when emptying the trash? This will help us to find and resolve the problem. ** Changed in: gvfs (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gvfs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1500600 Title: Impossible to empty trash with 5 files inside Status in gvfs package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Xubuntu 14.04.3 with latest sec. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1500600] Re: Impossible to empty trash with 50000 files inside
More detailed description of the bug: I have a big (4 TiB) batch of scientific articles (PDF). If I delete to trash ~5 files (~25 GiB) or more using Thunar (v1.6.3) or DoubleCommander (0.5.8 beta) and then try to empty Trash from the desktop or Thunar the icon (and the whole desktop and thunar) becomes not responsible (nothing happens if you rightbutton click on it, or if you try to select it, I have waited for 30 min). Even if I empty the trash using: sudo rm -rf ~/.local/share/Trash/* the icon doesn't respond. However, after this command and reboot, everything works fine and the the trash icon on the desktop and in thunar is "empty". Sure one can terminate Thunar and restart it again and it would work fine. My machine cfg: Core i7 3770, 32 GB RAM, 6 TB HDD (2xWD 30EZRX). OS: Xubutnu 14.04.3 LTS, kernel 3.16.0-50.67~14.04.1-generic 3.16.7-ckt16. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gvfs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1500600 Title: Impossible to empty trash with 5 files inside Status in gvfs package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Xubuntu 14.04.3 with latest sec.
