Title:
  Rewinding videos can cause breakage

Status in Exploration of Ubuntu on a Smart TV:
  Invalid
Status in “gstreamer0.10” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
While watching a video using the rewind option can cause the video to
stop playing. This is almost universal but I can provide some sample
  videos if required.

Sometimes it's enough to stop all videos playing and the shell needs
to be restarted to get video playback working again.

Suspect this is a GStreamer issue.

2012-05-23 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Note that it would be good to have infos on the player used (does it
happen with totem?), it's weird that you need to restart the shell to
get it back working, gstreamer has no real session state, restarting the
player should be enough (or is the player part of the shell for you?)

Thanks Will, is there any chance you could report the bug upstream to
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=gstreamer? We don't
really have gstreamer hackers in team and are limited on the bug fixing
work we can do on it

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 953841] Re: Rewinding videos can cause breakage

2012-05-06 Thread James Plate
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which
is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper
developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . I have classified this
bug as a bug in gstreamer0.10.

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu-
bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this
functionality at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs.

** Package changed: ubuntu => gstreamer0.10 (Ubuntu)
