Weekly Backlog Grooming

2017-10-04 Thread Thomas Nadeau

I would like to start running a weekly backlog grooming session for an
hour starting next week.
As we progress forward, we can shorten or adjust this as we go. The purpose of
this meeting is to first of all, get the
community together on a periodic basis - it will be an excuse to talk “in
person”. Its also a means for us to give inputs
as to what the project works on and how to define our next release. This is
also a place to do a “bug bash” where we look
at recently entered bugs and assign them if they haven’t been assigned, and
also check on status of in progress fixes
as well as in progress story completion.

To this end, I would like to ask everyone for some dates/times that
work for them. Since there aren’t
a super large number of people participating, I think we can simply do this on
the list without too much
fanfare, so please post your desired dates/times. From my end, I’d ask that we
constrain the dates
to being Monday-Thursday. I will work to get a date/time that is reasonable for
everyone.

Once we settle on this, I’ll setup the meeting logistics.

Cheers,

—Tom

Updating Getting Started

2017-10-04 Thread Thomas Nadeau

Vish and I spent a couple of hours earlier this week breaking down
ARIA-309
(https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ARIA-309
) in an effort to update the
“Getting
Started” materials for the project. There was some fruitful discussion on the
list
between myself first, then Vish and then Brian Sullivan on what was out-of-date
in the instructions and materials. I’ve captured what I think are those actual
items
in the updated Jira item and will start working on these shortly (and would love
some help too). Vish/Brian at a minimum, please go back and verify that what
is in
here is accurate, but I encourage everyone else to do so too. If you do want
to
go through these items literally, please invoke a virgin dev environment so
that things
are not working from a previous build/use.

Thanks!

Working towards Release 1

2017-10-04 Thread Thomas Nadeau

Tal and I sat down yesterday and started with a new epic
(https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ARIA-386)
in order to begin to capture what we think as a project, is needed to get Aria
to a stable release 1.0. I like to do
releases in “themes” so for this one it is simple: TOSCA 1.0 “compliance” as we
see it. There are related issues to
releasing things, but this is a start. Please take a look and comment here.

Node Template Substitution

2017-10-04 Thread Steve Baillargeon
Hi
Can we have a status update on the availability of the Node Template
Substitution feature (aka substitution mappings)?
Will it support the "capabilities" defined in YAML Profile 1.0 or YAML Profile
1.2?

Regards
