Re: [VOTE] Apache CloudStack 4.12.0.0 [RC5]

2019-03-18 Thread Rafael Weingärtner
Tested and I am giving a +1 (binding vote).

   - tested upgrade from 4.9.3.0
   - Used XenServer 6.5
   - the normal stuff (stop/start/migrate,create network, system vms, and
   so on)
   - working with local storage (migrate: local<>local, local<>nfs, nfs <>
   local)
   - migrate VMs with disks that have been placed in a different storage
from their disk offering (disk offering using local, and disk override to
   NFS)

Re: [Review] CloudMonkey v6.0.0 release announcement review request

2019-03-18 Thread Sally Khudairi
Hello again, Rohit --following up on this:

- we need a headline and subhead; how about

*The Apache Software Foundation Announces Apache® CloudMonkey® v6.0**
*

**Popular Open Source Command Line Interface Tool Simplifies Apache CloudStack
Configuration and Management
**

- we'll need to update the ASF boilerplate. I can do that on my end.

If we're aiming to announce on 20 March, we'll need to lock in the copy no
later than 6PM ET (UTC -5) on Tuesday 19 March. Do you have additional
testimonials to include?

Are there any outstanding issues that I can help with?

Kind thanks,
Sally

Re: Any plan for 4.11 LTS extension ?

2019-03-18 Thread Will Stevens
Yes. This seems right to me.

The LTS release was introduced for exactly the purpose of giving
organizations with production deployments a predictable and stable path for
upgrades. There has to be a reasonably sized window for adoption of the new
LTS release before the previous one can be abandoned.

I think what Rene posted is a good guide. If we have other documentation
which specifies specific dates (which may be outdated), we may want to go
through and update to inspire more confidence in the LTS versions and the
expected upgrade path/window.

Cheers,

Will
