Angelo, at Apache, we prefer all discussion to happen on the mailing
lists. Off list discussions, while seemingly quick and easy, will prevent
the rest of the community from following and possibly altering the course
of events.

That said, if you really need to discuss some things that are not suitable
for public lists, such as IP related issues, please feel free to send me a
direct email.

P. S. I will be removing us...@flex.apache.org going forward. So those who
are interested in this, please subscribe to the dev@flex.apache.org mailing
list.

RE: Help with 0.8

2017-07-28 Thread Jim Norris
I made it as simple as I could:

http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009;

xmlns:js="library://ns.apache.org/flexjs/express"
xmlns:basic="library://ns.apache.org/flexjs/basic"
>

@namespace js "library://ns.apache.org/flexjs/express";
.bigText{
color:#005192;
font-size:32px;
}

.htmlStuff{
color:#00;
}

Thanks,

Jim

be.

Okay, have fun ☺️
I will set up a simple project where we can start the skinning a simple
button.

I would say lets keep everything in CSS. It would make it easier for others
to copy and modify the theme.

Here is what we would need:

For the up, over and down states,

Background color,
Border
Padding
Margin
Alpha

For effects, we need CSS transitions between states. I can set up a simple
transition and we can tweak it as much as we want.

Also, for this theme, we need to pick one or two fonts. Apache Open Sans
is a good default because of the license. More fancy ones can be
considered if they are of compatible licenses.

Trevor/Angelo, does all this sound good to you?

Once we iron out all the issues, we can take on a slightly more complex
IconButton. After that hopefully, folks can start contributing and work on
other components in parallel.

Thanks,
Om

RE: Help with 0.8

2017-07-28 Thread Jim Norris
Hello-

I am trying to use some components and having some trouble (both running a swf
and sometimes different issues when exporting JS). For basics, I want to setup
some HTML text, but I get an exception when using the HTMLText component. See
trace below. Let me know if there may be additional setup steps for
FlashBuilder I am unaware of. I also tried TextArea which displayed in swf
(with a lot of Mouse event errors) but not when I exported to JS.

Do you have an example project you would suggest as a good starting point for
learning FlexJS? I tried the FlexJSStore and it seems like it has some issues.

I am trying to setup some (of my own) simple pages and running into anomalies
in behavior between the swf output and the js-release and I would like to look
at something that is setup properly to make sure I understand how I should be
doing things.

Again, appreciate your feedback.

It did help. I had to copy the jre folder from the 1.8 JDK install to the
Flash Builder application directory (replacing the old jre folder), and that
fixed it.

Thanks very much for the help.
