I would add info about the Geode sessions at the SpringOne conference.

"The SpringOne Platform conference in December 2017 included 12 talks [1] on
Apache Geode. The talks were given by users and developers of Geode, covering
uses cases, extensions, and integration stories. All the talks were
well-attended and the afternoon sessions the first day were standing room only."

2018-02-12 Thread Mark Bretl
Late to the game here, as I see this was merged today...

The addition of the Gradle versions plugin is good and hopefully we can go
farther down the path of dependency scanning by adding security as well.
Currently, GitHub has this setup for Ruby and JavaScript [1], however it is
lacking Java dependencies. Until GitHub can support Java dependencies, I
would suggest we look at other tools, such as snyk.io [2], for tracking our
dependencies with security vulnerabilities.

2018-02-12 Thread Jason Huynh
I logged a ticket for this hang:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/GEODE-4650 From what I can tell, it
looks like some sort of race condition where the DLockService is stuck
trying to clearGrantor.

Re: sun.misc.ObjectInputFilter in rel/v1.4.0

2018-02-12 Thread Juan José Ramos
Hello Daniel,

I hit this a compilation error a couple of months ago, you just need to
upgrade your JDK to get it working. I remember seeing within the dev list
which was the minimum JDK version required but I can't seem to find it
now... either way, I know that it works correctly with 1.8.0_152 as that's
the one I'm currently using.
Hope this helps.
Best regards.

RE: sun.misc.ObjectInputFilter in rel/v1.4.0

2018-02-12 Thread Daniel Farcovich
I see sun.misc.ObjectInputFilter is available since java 9:
https://docs.oracle.com/javase/9/docs/api/java/io/ObjectInputFilter.html
Looks like this is a backward compatibility break :(

Subject: sun.misc.ObjectInputFilter in rel/v1.4.0

Hi
We are facing a compilation error on
geode-core/src/main/java/org/apache/geode/internal/ObjectInputStreamFilterWrapper.java
sun.misc.ObjectInputFilter can't be found since we use java 8.
Has anyone encountered this in rel/v1.4.0?

Thanks,
Daniel
