Yes, it's what I had in mind: 4.1.0 before Christmas.

Hi guys,

now that ApacheCon is done, and regarding some dependencies new

releases

(especially Pax URL 2.5.1), I think we can move forward on releases.

I propose the following schedule:

Karaf Container 4.0.8 by the end of this week. The important issue to

fix

is the support of ARM and Solaris (jansi).
Karaf Container 3.0.9 beginning of next week (waited by ServiceMix).

Karaf Decanter 1.3.0 should come end of this week or next one.

I think it makes sense to plan Karaf Container 4.1.0.RC1 by the end of
this year (so in the coming month).

I have a few things I'd like to work on in the coming days:
 - KARAF-4752
 - support for lib/* folders on JDK 9 (those are currently ignored afaik)
And I'm not sure we need to do a RC, I think we could go directly to

4.1.0.

Regarding blog post, it is ready but as I'm changing blog system (from
wordpress to bloggers) it will be published next week (migrating other
content).

Thoughts ?

JB

Hi all,

-- Decanter 1.3.0 (elasticsearch upgrade, fix on kafka appender, new

Blog:
- Karaf & Cellar with Mesos and Marathon: last week, I prepared a blog

[HEADS UP] Next releases

2016-10-09 Thread Jean-Baptiste Onofré

Hi all,

Just a rough schedule for the next release:

- in the coming two weeks (probably end of this week or next one):
-- Cellar 4.0.3 (including support of bundles and features update,
hazelcast upgrade and other bug fixes)
-- Decanter 1.3.0 (elasticsearch upgrade, fix on kafka appender, new
features)

- in two weeks:
-- Container 4.0.8: the ARM/Solaris issue should be fixed now (that was
an important regression in 4.0.6 & 4.0.7). Other fixes and upgrades are
coming too.

Blog:
- Karaf & Cellar with Mesos and Marathon: last week, I prepared a blog
post showing how to use Karaf and Cellar on Mesos and Marathon. I will
push on my github the dockerfile and marathon json. I will propose the
docker image as official (based on alpine/jre).
I planned to do a talk based on that during ApacheCon but my talk
proposal has been declined.

I plan to publish this post during the week end.

Regards
JB

2016-05-23 Thread Jean-Baptiste Onofré

Hi all,

as an update in this thread, I gonna push several changes on Cave later
today.

I started fixes and new features in Cellar too.

So I think we can count on Cave releases end of this week, Cellar
beginning of next one and Container 3.0.7 end of next week.

I keep you posted.

Regards
JB

By the way, I worked in new Decanter collectors (kafka, jms, rest
server, ...) in my flight during the week end. I will push them later
today. Maybe it makes sense to plan a Decanter 1.1.1 release next week
including these new collectors.
