[DISCUSS] About ReadTheDocs integration

2020-10-29 Thread Zhang Yifei
Hello guys,

We were working on issue MARVIN-76

to
replace the documentation page,
since we have better docs in Readthedocs
(Associated with Bruno
Sette's forked repo currently) than our site.

When I logged in Readthedocs with my github account, it appears some extra
permissions are needed at the organization(Apache) level.
[image: Screenshot from 2020-10-29 14-25-28.png]

Any ideas about this? Actually I don't even know if we are allowed to do
this kind of integration...

Most of conversations about the project in last few months happened in some

In which section of report should we put this information?

Reports overdue

2019-12-07 Thread Zhang Yifei
Hello guys,

Our report is pretty late, may someone submmit it? or will be accumulated
for next month?

Marvin-AI

Marvin-AI is an open-source artificial intelligence (AI) platform that helps
data scientists, prototype and productionalize complex solutions with a
scalable, low-latency, language-agnostic, and standardized architecture
while simplifies the process of exploration and modeling.

Marvin-AI has been incubating since 2018-08-21.

Three most important unfinished issues to address before graduating:
1. Increase activity from current contributors and community.
2. Build compatibility with all the mainstream storages for artifact
persistence.
3. Finish the new version of Toolbox.

Are there any issues that the IPMC or ASF Board need to be aware of?
 * No.

How has the community developed since the last report?
 * We implemented Marvin in a new Fintech company "Ame Digital" in Sao
Paulo - Brazil as their main MLOps tool,
and all their data department are interested in contributing. We are
currently working together to add compatibility
with MS Azure for artifact persistence.

How has the project developed since the last report?
 * New AutoML public engines added.
 * Minor bug fixes.
 * Compatibility with Google Cloud BigQuery for data import added.
 * AutoML module with Spark MLib in construction.

How would you assess the podling's maturity?
Please feel free to add your own commentary.

  [ ] Initial setup
[ ] Working towards first release
  [X] Community building
  [ ] Nearing graduation

Date of last release:
2019-07-18

When were the last committers or PPMC members elected?
* Wei Chen added as new PPMC member (2019-06-07)

dynamic_import error in docker

2019-11-04 Thread Zhang Yifei
Hello guys,,

Any idea about this error here
https://issues.apache.org/jira/projects/MARVIN/issues/MARVIN-69?filter=allopenissues
?

The engine works perfectly while running directly in local machine with
command: marvin engine-httpserver,
When encapsulated in docker container, the same command to start httpserver
raise dynamic_import error - ImportError: No module named marvin_cba3_engine

Looks like some dependency mapping error

Many thanks

Just to update, i found the solution.
I'll finalize this issue later and open a PR for explanation, deployment

Re: [Release][Help] refused by the server: Unauthorized

2019-06-18 Thread Zhang Yifei
Hello Wei,

Just tried with full Apache Email, same error.
I didn`t get your error, it seems like some kind of dependency error.
Apache repo requires GPG signature, i had to create a new GPG key and
publish it in public key pool. When i use "publishSigned" command in sbt
shell,
sbt will sign all generated artifacts with my GPG key(asking for Key
password if we created it), generate POM file from informations that we put
in sonatype.sbt and try to connect with Repo host for deployment.
I also changed the version from 0.0.5 to 0.0.5-SNAPSHOT for snapshot repo
deploy before deploying directly to staging repo.

The only change that we had is the repository host, from oss.sonatype.org
to repository.apache.org(and your credentials)

I'm suspecting that some Sonatype dependencies we are using is affecting
this procedure.
I got day off on thursday, then ill check all these dependencies and
plugings.

Thanks for helping!!

Regards

Yifei

[Release][Help] refused by the server: Unauthorized

2019-06-17 Thread Zhang Yifei
Hello guys, i need a hand here about publishing Engine-Executor to Apache
MARVIN-45 /MARVIN-56
.

Error log:
-
[error] Unable to find credentials for [Sonatype Nexus Repository Manager @
repository.apache.org].
[error] Is one of these realms misspelled for host [repository.apache.org
]:
[error] * Apache Nexus Repository Manager
[trace] Stack trace suppressed: run last *:publishSigned for the full
output.
[error] (*:publishSigned) java.io.IOException: Access to URL
https://repository.apache.org/content/repositories/snapshots/org/apache/marvin/marvin-engine-executor_2.12/0.0.5-SNAPSHOT/marvin-engine-executor_2.12-0.0.5-SNAPSHOT.jar.asc
was refused by the server: Unauthorized
[error] Total time: 5 s, completed 17/06/2019 10:49:14

The release configuration is practically done.
I have tried to publish locally and it worked(Changed Apache repo host to
publishTo := Some(Resolver.file("file",  new File(
"/home/zhangyifei/Desktop" )) )).
The current value of "publishTo" in build.sbt is

publishTo := {val nexus = "https://repository.apache.org/;
  if (isSnapshot.value)
Some("snapshots" at nexus + "content/repositories/snapshots")
  else
Some("releases" at nexus + "service/local/staging/deploy/maven2")
}

So apparently the problem is Apache Credential setting.

Putting "credentials += Credentials("Apache Nexus Repository Manager", "
repository.apache.org", "yifeizhang", "MyPassword)" in build.sbt is not
working,
and creating a local file in /home/user/.sbt/sbtversion/sonatype.sbt with
credentials informations either(This worked for me when i published
artifact to sonatype repo).

Does anyone have any idea about how to set credentials for artifact publish.

Best regards

2019-02-06 Thread Zhang Yifei
Hello guys,

Anybody that use MacOS can helps me to check if this error reported here:

https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MARVIN-27

is caused by "Cython" version?

The error is about installing "thriftpy" during "pip install
marvin-python-toolbox".
(Cython < 0.27.3 breaks "thriftpy" installation?).

Tks in advance!

Re: POCs, Prototypes, experiments ...

2018-10-18 Thread Zhang Yifei
Ok guys,

The basic idea is to provide only one Toolbox for multiple languages.
We are looking for possibility to build a single Marvin Repl,
instead of severals toolboxes with differentes interfaces or commands.

In this case, the engine-generate command will download and start a Docker
container with basic engine structure corresponding the choosed language.
this means we don't need to build Toolboxes of differents languages, we just
build the engine template of all languages that we want to support and
provide it
as Docker containers

We have started researches around our basic requirements like:
- Repl interface
- System communication
- Connection security
- Tool popularity
- Update complexity
- Languages support
- ..

And we did some POC with code here: https://github.com/marvin-ai/marvin-repl

There is POC testing gRPC using Scala and Python,
Repl inteface and Docker SDK with NodeJS,
Repl interface and Docker SDK with Python.

At this moment we prefer the Repl interface + Docker SDK way, because good
part of the requirements
will be guaranteed by Docker.

With this informations, what do you think? Should we submit all this POCs
to Apache Repo?
Please feel free to opine.

Thats all, thanks!!!

this will perserve the Git commit history.
What we are planning to do is:

git filter-branch --subdirectory-filter
-- --all
mkdir POCs/
git mv * POCs/
git commit -m "colleted the data to move"

git clone cd git remote add origin_repository_branch
 git pull origin_repository_branch master
--allow-unrelated-histories git remote rm origin_repository_branch

Thanks in advance !

Yes we have started those POCs of the new toolbox concept for a while,
and we never clarified this concept to all Marvin contributors.
