Quite easy: http://pootle.sunvirtuallab.com/de/index.html for the overview and http://pootle.sunvirtuallab.com/de/openoffice_org/ and http://pootle.sunvirtuallab.com/de/helpcontent2/ for more detailed statistics. Note that Pootle counts words rather than strings in the overview, the sentence/string count is on the detailed pages. Replace de with the respective language code for the other languages. The latest SDF file is always here: http://ftp.linux.cz/pub/localization/OpenOffice.org/devel/POT/ Just look for the latest milestone file (_m2xx), the SDF file is inside. [native-lang] Hunspell and Affixes in Right-to-left Languages
Hi, after the recent discussion about the Farsi (Persian) spellchecker on the native-lang list I decided to try out some things. Basically I want to create a hunspell dictionary for Kurdish with Arabic script, which is in a lot of ways similar to Farsi. But I ran into some problems. I could not get any affix working. I tried a lot of different things, nothing worked. I am familiar with the concept of affixes in MySpell/Hunspell, so my question is: Has ANYbody EVER got affixes working in a right-to-left language with Hunspell in UTF-8? Or has anybody an idea whether it should work or not? I have not found any example. Farsi has just a plain wordlist, Hebrew is not UTF-8. I haven't seen an Arabic Hunspell dictionary anywhere around. You define a rule, call it a and mark in the wordlist all words that it applies to with /a. That's how it works. The exceptions are not marked with /a, maybe you want to apply rule /b to them. Maybe you should have a look at an English .dic and .aff file, to get the basic concept. [native-lang] Proposal: Kurdish NLC project
Hi, I am the team leader of a group that translates and promotes free and open source software in the Kurdish language. We are involved in OpenOffice.org, Mozilla, GNOME, KDE and Ubuntu localization and promotion. We also developed the Kurdish MySpell dictionary for OpenOffice.org. We just had a lot of success in the Kurdish community and the Kurdish press with a presentation of the Kurdish translation of Ubuntu. As the release of OpenOffice.org 2.1 (and it's Kurdish localization for the first time) is imminent we want to make a step forward and become official members of the Native Language Confederation. We find it important to become official members of the NLC, because be feel that will help us to promote a wider use of the new Kurdish OpenOffice.org as well as it will be a good starting point to enlarge the Kurdish OpenOffice.org community independently from the Linux community. Localization of OpenOffice.org is continuing.
