Hello Oliver, I did a test in a clean virtualbox under Debian Wheezy 32 bit. First I installed AOO 3.4.1 without problems Then I installed the developer Snapshot from 2013-06-27 with dpkg -i *.deb. Orwellian Reality (from Tim Meyer)
I'm writing to thank you for access to the office suite functionality that seems effectively for free?—I thought there was no such thing as free— so Apache Open Office allows access to the information culture despite poverty, for which I am exceedingly grateful. If I had it, I would contribute money. Ever since I resigned my DoD chemist position more or less on principle, my financial reality has gone from bad to worse. So strange, rapidly our system declares a person long-term unemployed within months; gaps in the resume are implicit crimes to justify rejection for employment that leads to an effective permanent lock out from the work force. Unable to earn money, the budget for office hardware and software becomes zero. For the latter, Microsoft minimally requires about one hundred U.S. dollars for our information functions. Well, lucky for me I had been a skilled musician before I entered the workforce. I bought a Yamaha DJX (vintage) from consignment for sixty U.S. dollars, playing gigs at fifty to a hundred a show, the instrument has been a vehicle for upwards of six figures and going . . . This did not require information age tools such as our office suite. Your worst enemy, he reflected, was your own nervous system. At any moment the tension inside you was liable to translate itself into some visible symptom. He thought of a man whom he had passed in the street a few weeks back; a quite ordinary-looking man, a Party member, aged thirty-five to forty, tallish and thin, carrying a brief-case. They were a few metres apart when the left side of the man’s face was suddenly contorted by a sort of spasm. It happened again just as they were passing one another: it was only a twitch, a quiver, rapid as the clicking of a camera shutter, but obviously habitual. He remembered thinking at the time: That poor devil is done for. And what was frightening was that the action was quite possibly unconscious. The most deadly danger of all was talking in your sleep. There was no way of guarding against that, so far as he could see. -Chapter 6, 1984 - To unsubscribe, e-mail: dev-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: dev-h...@openoffice.apache.org

Hello Juergen, I have added a couple of log statements in my extension. When I type a url in the open menu, a call to getPropertyValues ucb command is executed. When I type a wrong/nonexistent url, a non-existant object dialog is launched. When I type a correct url, a call to getPropertyValues is shown in the log, but nothing happens after that. Debugging, yes I have developed my own client application and I have executed the ucb commands i have developed and they work fine. I have added the arguments to my jre to connect to the debugger. I followed the instructions of ariel for this. Re: Forum registration refused for “invalid” email
Hi, There is indeed a Robert2 user with that mail, registered on Sat Jun 29, 2013 11:24 am (Europe, Paris time). If there is a problem with the forgotten password link, let me know. I tried starting a new registration in the forum at http://forum.openoffice.org/en with that e-mail address (it's the only way to test) and the Forum refused it because the address is already in use. So it seems that you are already registered and that you need to use the links at http://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/ucp.php?mode=login if you forgot your password or need the verification e-mail to be resent. By the way, I am sending this message to you because I could not see any way to contact the Admin of the OpenOffice.org Writer Forum The dev list is OK for these issues. Re: [WWW]There is no contact information on the wiki
For the record, in the past (before the move to ASF servers), each forum had a contact address with a special process: 1. All messages were sent to a moderator forum visible to mods only. A tag told if the mail address was registered or not. An other one told if it was not the first message from that mail address (to the admin mailbox). 2. An automatic reply was sent depending on the existence of an identical registered mail address. 3. Mods just had to edit each message to confirm if standard reply would have taken care of the problem or not. If a specific reply was needed. The edit was used to tell other mods that the message had been checked. Non edited posts had then to be checked and action taken if necessary. Here is the automated mail: -- Thank-you, This is an automated response from the OUCV forum administrators. This mailbox is primarily for assisting users with registration difficulties. The best place to find out information and to ask Questions is on our forums. We therefore only respond by email to those questions that cannot be resolved through using our forums. http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=50t=527 gives you guidance if you have registration difficulties. http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=50t=5569 explains how to ask a Q on the forum. Gujarati fonts -
Dear Sir, Earlier I was using Open Office version 3.3 and I was able to copy paste Hindi Gujarati fonts in word documents. To-day, I have installed version 3.4 and I could only copy and paste HINDI fonts in word documents and no GUJARATI fonts are pest. Would you please guide me step by step what action I should take to copy and paste Gujarati fonts. In Microsoft word 2010, it is easy to paste both Hindi Gujarati fonts but after installing new version of open office 3.4 gives me hard time. I would appreciate your response in the matter. Thanking you, Omkar Rawal - To unsubscribe, e-mail: dev-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: dev-h...@openoffice.apache.org
Upgrading extensions for AOO 4.0
Hi all, As you know, some extensions have to be upgraded for AOO 4.0. What to do if some authors refuse to make the necessary modifications and decide to make their extensions only available for Libo because they are not in love with AOO? Some of these extensions are important, I think (pdf import, for instance). I wonder if it could be possible to buy the service here. But I have no idea of the required price for such a work, Perhaps an opportunity for people who will develop a commercial activity around AOO ? A+ -- gw
