I don't have any other update sources than
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-10064
so if there no news there (and there aren't any, at the moment) it means
that nothing has changed, unfortunately. I support your proposal to add
a comment there, you (or me) might also bump the priority if this can help.

Re: build breaker/Issue 126449/ svx module

Looks like you are compiling with gcc 4.9. I ran into this same problem

This looks like very valuable information (I never saw this, but I build
with gcc 4.8.x most of the times). Could you expand on it a bit?

Do I understand correctly from the above issue than anybody building
OpenOffice (I'm obviously particularly interested in the coming 4.1.2)
with GCC 4.9.0 to 4.9.3 (and possibly later 4.9.x releases, since the
issue is not fixed yet in 4.9.x) will have to manually edit their makefiles?

If this is true, would you recommend that we either detect it at
configuration time, or modify the makefiles, or anything else?

Is this related to https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=125475
(where a patch by Ariel is available, but operates at a C++ code level
and not at a Makefile level)?

Sorry for the many questions! At the bare minimum, it would be very
helpful if you can update the building guide at
https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/Building_Guide_AOO/Step_by_step
with some specific information; I know you build on FreeBSD which is not
one of the platforms we provide binaries for, but you can add a whole
section about it if you like. If you need a wiki account, just ask here.

  Andrea.

Thanks a lot Keith. Indeed
https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/FAQ
seems quite complete, even though it is probably time to renew it and
remove references to version 1.x and 2.x; there are some Mediawiki
errors but they apply to a few "technical" pages that we can likely
remove from the User FAQ.

Thanks Keith. This is certainly helpful information. We would
certainly be grateful for more current information on the FAQs. And if
we are now maintaining them on the wiki, this would be easier for
volunteers as well.

Sure, and everybody remember that if you don't have a wiki account you
can simply ask here and Keith or me will create one for you.

right. So, a new task when the CMS is working again.

Well, we shouldn't delay work on the site until the CMS works again...
We already have many pending edits. So long as we don't touch very
delicate components (like the download JavaScript or the side-wide CSS)
we should continue and when the CMS is restored we can fix the
occasional HTML errors we didn't notice.

  Andrea.

Maintenance of AOO Wiki and Forum

2015-08-14 Thread jan i
Hi.

The AOO Forum vm could do with an upgrade to Ubuntu 14.04 and be defined in
the new puppet structure. Defining it in the new puppet structure has the
advantage that Infra can roll a new vm in case of problems, and thereby
reducing downtime.

The AOO Wiki vm is in strong need of a reconfiguration and update (Ubuntu
14.04 see above). Currently there is a ATS running on the same vm in front
of the mediawiki (django) application. The ATS veersion is no longer
supported by the traffic server project. Running it on a separate vm (or
even as the HTPPS proxy) has a lot of merit, but it has not been done.

As I am reducing my engagement in the project, this might be a good time
for a new maintainer to step up. The actual maintenance is about 1 hour pr
month.

I would like to help a new maintainer understand the setup, and also have
no problem continuing having access to the vm´s so I can help as
backstopper in case of problems.

I believe it is better for the project to have a person that is active in
the project, and participates on the mailing lists than one who do not read
the ML.

thoughts (or volunteers) ?
