[dev] Pinneberg status update
Hello, I finally completed the first step of Pinneberg, the work on future versions of OpenOffice.org. Feel free to contribute here: http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Pinneberg Feel free to add more high-level objectives to the list. Meanwhile, we have to categorize them as explained on the page. Kay, Thorsten, Sophie, we can start to work on the existing list now; but other volunteers are welcome. We may want to setup another mailing list, although I'm unsure about this. Next IRC meeting: 19th of october, 5pm CET, Freenode, [EMAIL PROTECTED] . Best, Charles-H. Schulz. [dev] Re: [native-lang] New OOo extension : ImpressRunner
Dear Laurent, congratulations to you! My only wish (and I'm not a developer) is to have that Impress separate engine that could install anywhere and would run presentations just like in the old Staroffice 5.x Thank you, Charles. Laurent Godard a écrit : Hi all OOo does not have an Impress autostart feature for its documents nor does it support pps files (the --show switch is not known by end-users and not user-friendly) Therefore, i wrote an ImpressRunner extension simulating this http://oooconv.free.fr/impressRunner/ImpressRunner-1.0.oxt Obviously, end-users will have to install this extension for the first time (Tools Extension manager add). If it is not installed, the processus will be transparent (old behaviour). Once installed, any powerpoint slideshow .pps file will be autostarted as they should For impress file, if a document userfield property contains 'autostart' string, the file will also be played automatically (ie. presentation will be launched at startup). I also added a toolbar containing 2 buttons for setting or removing this mode for impress slideshow designers. Displaying it is not required for end users. Please consider this ImpressRunner version as a first shoot and feel free to advertize it widely i'm totally open to any suggestion and will try to enhance this tool soon (like translation and integrated help file) Have a nice day Laurent - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
[dev] My universal best wishes
Hello, this is a season's greetings message. Due to the eminently international and multicultural population of the lists (not to speak of the OOo community itself), I would just like to wish you a great Holiday time wherever you are, and whatever your faith, beliefs, or lack of these can be. I know this year several religious celebrations from several religions are coinciding, so I thought it was appropriate, and besides, the solstice day was just Friday... So my best wishes go to everybody who helps the OpenOffice.org project, from our fans and users to our contributors, corporate or non corporate, who help make OpenOffice.org a great product and a great community. I'm looking forward a great year 2007. Best Regards, Charles-H.Schulz, Lead of the Native-Language Confederation, OpenOffice.org - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: [dev] OpenOffice.org Addons ?
Hello Martin, Martin Hollmichel wrote: Hi, I started searching for OpenOffice.org addons. Here's http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Addons what I have found so far. I think this list waits for completion and additions ?! Yes it does. I can also add the list of the fr project. However, I don't even know most of the addons you listed on the wiki. Can you add a short description for each of them? Thanks, Charles. - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: [dev] Please help. I can't get registered at www.openoffic.org. Has been 2 weeks.
Hello Bill, Although I am not the administrator of the site nor its webmaster, I took a look in the general members list and saw the two usernames you have submitted. Please check your email filters. If there is really no email message from SourceCast, let me know and I'll register you (again) ; you will be able to change your profile completely afterwards. In regard of OOoForum, this site is a separate web site that is not run by us nor by any parent organization; it is hence logical that you could not enter your username and password. Hope this helps, Charles-H. Re: [dev] Assistance
Hello Paul, welcome and thank you for your interest in OpenOffice.org! We do have a documentation project here: http://documentation.openoffice.org . Feel free to have a look at it. I've put Mr. Gerry. Roderick Singleton, lead of the Documentation project in copy. Hope you will find some interest in this! Best, Charles-H. Schulz. Re: [dev] OpenOffice: question : how i can manipulate openoffice writer document event: close/save...
Hello Faouzi, You are on the right list for your question. I noticed however that you must be francophone. In this case, I can only advise you to visit http://fr.openoffice.org, and subscribe to prog@fr.openoffice.org . The francophone community is a very helpful and friendly one. Thanks Matthias for handling this question. Hope this helps, Charles. - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Re: [dev] Need help and information in joining the OpenOffice.org community
Hello Karthik, thank you for your interest in OpenOffice.org . My name is Charles-H. Schulz and I'm the lead of the Native-Language Confederation (http://native-lang.openoffice.org) and http://projects.openoffice.org/native-lang.html . You are invited to start something related to Kannada wether as a native-language project or as a pure localization project (http://l10n.openoffice.org). I have to say that some people were interested earlier in such an initiative. i can put you in contact with them if you wish. Best Regards, Charles-H. Schulz. Karthik Nagaraj wrote: Hi, I just installed openOffice.org and right now I'm seriously considering moving over from MS Office to OpenOffice.org. I'm impressed by its strength and feature rich programs. One of the key areas of interest was the native language support. I come from Bangalore, India. My native language is Kannada and there is no project for Kannada language in openOffice.org. I'm interested in starting this project. Also I'm interested in fixing bugs for the openOffice and also provide new features which I felt might need to be there while I was using the SW. My Experience: Software Engineer for the past 5 years, Masters in CS from Illinois Institute of Technolgy and Bachelors in CS from Bangalore Institiute of Technology. I have 5 years of experience in C++ and I have written many projects in Java, CORBA (Distributed Objects and IDL). Is there a chance for me to contribute to this community and start a native langauge support in Kannada? Please do let me know. Re: [dev] OpenOffice.org Developer Article Contest
Hi, Rail Aliev wrote: Btw, here is a suggestion for the commitee A winner is automaticxally in the comitee for 3 sessions replacing the oldest Great idea IMO! Yup! I think we should also make sure to publicize the winner -and maybe the second best article- all over the net. This would allow us to have some nice PR campaign and also draw potential developpers to us, wether they want to write an article or get started with the code at once. [dev] Re: [native-lang] new incubator : Call for Name
Hello Laurent, +1 for this project from my side (although I doubt it'll have any weight)! :-) Laurent Godard wrote: Here are the propositions - addon.openoffice.org (already 1 vote) - extensions.openoffice.org (already 3 votes) - scripting.openoffice.org (already 0 vote) -i leave it in case er... I'll go for scripting; actually, I don't understand why you can't just overtake the scripting project that I heard was almost dead... [dev] Re: [com] a BIG thank you
Thank you Jacqueline! I'd also like to thank all the PR team, the development teams up there in Hamburg, and of course all the Native-Language communities who are working out there towards the final localization of the 2.0... After all these days it's rather moving to see the 2.0 getting a life of its own while the development goes towards the next release.
