PkgDB search / info functionality
Hi, I read the page about the PkgDB replacement[1] but it seems to focus mainly on the "logged in" functionality of PkgDB. However, I also use PkgDB as a convenient way for searching all of Fedora's packages. In addition, I find the Builds status, Updates status, Package source, Bug Reports, and Packages links on the individual package pages very helpful. Yes, I could of course go directly to Koji, Bodhi, Bugzilla, etc., but this provides a very nice way to get all the information for a package easily. What is the plan for replacing this functionality? In addition, RepoView was maintained in an SVN repository. I have a clone of the repository converted to Mercurial on BitBucket[0], but conversions to Git didn't go very well... RepoView actually does know how to parse comps instead of group tag when you tell it to. Most people don't, partly because comps is a Fedora-only thing (quite reasonably, Mageia and SUSE both use the Group tag for categorizing packages), but also because some don't know. repoview source fedorahosted and rpm groups again
Hi, anyone knows where is the source code of http://fedorahosted.org/repoview/ ? Have we any better tool ? (to view packages in web ) repoview still rely on group tag of rpm spec , but Fedora Packaging Guidelines says that group tag is obsolete . I started this thread on [1] and [2] dnf/yum rely on comps.xml and gnome-software-tools rely on appdata.xml . dnf repoquery doesn't have --groupmember as repoquery of yum . IMHO, conclusion or group tag is not obsolete or we have to have another repoview, updated that could read groups from other sources ...
