I forgot to say, it was between the hours 15-16 of 2 march (in local time) that I sent two e-mails to mentioned threads, but nor my e-mails and others e-mails was visible until 3 march 13:30-14:00. so it is actually 22-23 hours delay. ___ devel mailing list -- devel@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe send an email to devel-le...@lists.fedoraproject.org

Official archiver of Fedora mailing lists shows e-mails with one day delay!
At few days ago I did open two threads: 1: "Fedora 26 & 27 are unable to boot with normal graphic mode on this PC with AMD/ATI RS740 [Radeon 2100] GPU" in "Users" https://www.spinics.net/linux/fedora/fedora-users/threads.html#481765 2. "Why size of repositories metadata is too high in Fedora?" in "devel" https://www.spinics.net/lists/fedora-devel/threads.html#241887 I did set "Delivery status" to disabled via web page and used official archiver for viewing emails, but until noon today, it doesn't show new e-mails, I doubt to this situation and searched internet with mentioned titles and found mentioned links, so I noticed official archiver of Fedora is not reliable! Please do something for this problem, it is really bad situation you are waiting for e-mails and check the web page several times but you don't see anything! |: It currently shows all new e-mails but not two hours ago. ___ devel mailing list -- devel@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe send an email to devel-le...@lists.fedoraproject.org

Why size of repositories metadata is too high in Fedora?
Hello, in Debian (9, stable), size of all the official repositories metadata is maximum 10MB, while in Fedora, today I ran "dnf update" for first time after installing Fedora 27 (Fedora-Workstation-Live-x86_64-27-1.6) and it took 20+58MB for two official repositories! It is really too high, why there is such difference? why don't optimize it and fix this problem? ___ devel mailing list -- devel@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe send an email to devel-le...@lists.fedoraproject.org
Re: YAST for Fedora?
I believe that everyone comes from MS Windows to Linux will need to YAST, currently it provides many modules that makes system management very easy: * service management, what services are running, what are stopped, and user can change their status. * systemd control * hardware configuration and provide technical info about them * many more modules for doing essential works until Fedora does not provide YAST, it can not claim that is a good alternative for desktop users of MS Windows. ___ devel mailing list -- devel@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe send an email to devel-le...@lists.fedoraproject.org

What is the correct approach?! Wasting lots of time on: * reading bad-structured and complex man pages? * search the internet through search engines and open tens of web pages and reading a bunch of out-dated and non-functional information? * struggle with too many different tools that most of them are unknown for users due to lack of a central management tool like IBM AIX System Management Interface Tool (SMIT)? ___ devel mailing list -- devel@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe send an email to devel-le...@lists.fedoraproject.org
YAST for Fedora?
Hello, SUSE distributions have a system control panel that can configure many aspects of the system. It is the best feature I saw in SUSE, it is very interesting, useful and beneficial for all users. * Why Fedora does not have such tool? * How much money is need to develop such tool from scratch or port it from SUSE to Fedora/RHEL? If Fedora provides such tool, it can attract many users from Ubuntu, Debian and others to Fedora. ___ devel mailing list -- devel@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe send an email to devel-le...@lists.fedoraproject.org
