Trains don't come unless you request them. If you don't want another
train yet, then don't press space or t.
There are some basic usage instructions here that you might want to re-review:
http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Bridge

It has a long way to go in terms of being more user friendly, of course!

Testing summary - Saturday 4 April 2009

2009-04-03 Thread Tabitha Roder
Hello

Found it hard to find the emails of the developers to let them know we have
tested their activities... can they put their contacts on their activities
page please?

Who was there - Uli and the girls, Grant, Callum, Brenda, Tabitha

Bridge-2
Trains crashing into each other rolling over each other and the tangle of
train parts made it hard to play... is there a way that you can restrict
next train to not come until a certain time length has gone by? or a clear
debris option for bits of broken train everywhere? reset button?

PlayGo-5
Seems to work well. Played against the computer and the computer won.

Cobble-3
Custom deck with any fields blank kills activity. Adding other items and
leaving fields blank does not cause activity to die.

Roadmap-3
Map of California came up, could move around easily.

x2o-9
Pre-made levels worked well. Everything worked as expected.

Thanks

Kind regards

I'm running ~cjb/rawhide-xo/f11-beta/20090403.img on my XO.
[I don't know it that was built with the correct repositories.]

When I try the Fluendo audio script - no sound.
When I try (static-linked) Mplayer - no picture; no sound.

Re: Announcing Fedora 11 Beta for XO

2009-04-03 Thread Chris Ball
Hi Carol,

   > That is somewhat helpful, but I suppose I was hoping for the
   > XO-specific parts. E.g. power management?

This build is pure Fedora, so there are many XO-specific things that do
not work, but the build is still quite generally usable, and contains
Sugar 0.84.

We're looking at making a variant of this build including the XO kernel,
which will go most of the way towards XO-specific hardware working.
(But this isn't a long-term solution; we need to get our kernel stuff
into the upstream kernel for that.)

- Chris.

It is as far as I'm aware plain rawhide which means it will be sugar
0.84 with default Fedora power stuff using the new devicekit [1]. All
the hardware should work as expected and if it doesn't please report
it, either here or in the Fedora Bugzilla.

Recompiling the firmware

Hello

I couldn't find a lot of informations about firmware recompilation.

>From what I've read, I think I can get it from
http://openbios.org/viewvc/?root=OpenFirmware

But how do I recompile it, to get a new .rom file ready to by flashed
? (the same question appears on Firmware_hobby_hacking on the wiki,
without any reply)
Do I need specific tools ?

I have the developper key for the machine I would like to experiment on.
Thanks in advance for any information

There's a new series of patches with minor tidyups, recommended. And
an rpm, so if you want to play with it

 yum --enablerepo=olpcxs-testing install moodle-xs

The version at this point is: moodle-xs-1.9.2.xs2.45.g136e4d
