[sabayon-dev] emerge kde-l10n keeps compiling wrong languages despite LINGUAS settings in make.conf
hello devels, don't know if it's a bug or intended behaviour so I'm asking here. I'm trying to get rid of the foreign languages installed by default on my system except for italian and english. To do so I've: 1. manually removed with equo all the kde-l10n and kde-l10n-{it,en,es,fr,de,...} packages 2. set up LINGUAS=it en in /etc/make.conf 3. tried to emerge kde-l10n. however emerge always tries to install also kde-l10n-th and kde-l10n-wa packages: These are the packages that would be merged, in order: Calculating dependencies... done! [ebuild N ] kde-base/kde-l10n-th-4.7.4 USE=handbook (-aqua) (-kdeenablefinal) [ebuild N ] kde-base/kde-l10n-wa-4.7.4 USE=handbook (-aqua) (-kdeenablefinal) [ebuild N ] kde-base/kde-l10n-it-4.7.4 USE=handbook (-aqua) (-kdeenablefinal) [ebuild N ] kde-base/kde-l10n-4.7.4 USE=(-aqua) LINGUAS=it th wa -ar -bg -ca -cs -da -de -el -en_GB -es -et -eu -fi -fr -ga -gl -he -hr -hu -ia -id -is -ja -kk -km -kn -ko -lt -lv -mai -nb -nds -nl -nn -pa -pl -pt -pt_BR -ro -ru -sk -sl -sr -sv -tr -uk -zh_CN -zh_TW /etc/portage/package.use and /etc/portage/package.use.sabayon.entropy both contain this line: kde-base/kde-l10n linguas_be linguas_csb linguas_ne linguas_th linguas_wa Removing it from package.use fixes the problem. Thus my question is: is it safe to remove kde-base/kde-l10n linguas_be linguas_csb linguas_ne linguas_th linguas_wa from /etc/portage/package.use and /etc/portage/package.use.sabayon.entropy?

Re: [sabayon-dev] Linux 3.2 in sabayon-limbo
May I suggest using ACPI_ASUS module as [m] instead of [Y] ? In order to provide the kernel with ASUS_LAPTOP=[m] (which is the newest module from acpi4asus), the reason is ACPI_ASUS is the deprecated one for 2.6.24 kernels. One more thing to add : asus_laptop depends on acpi_asus=[m] and it's not available for acpi_asus=[Y], thus the suggestion.http://pastebin.sabayon.org/pastie/8002 Date: Mon, 9 Jan 2012 14:12:06 +1100 From: joe.odent...@gmail.com To: devel@lists.sabayon.org Subject: Re: [sabayon-dev] Linux 3.2 in sabayon-limbo working on my desktop Installed using sulfur only selecting the kernel and nvidia driver Linux sabaxfce 3.2.0-sabayon #1 SMP Sat Jan 7 20:05:56 UTC 2012 x86_64 AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1055T lspci 00:00.0 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] RS880 Host Bridge 00:02.0 PCI bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] RS780 PCI to PCI bridge (ext gfx port 0) 00:04.0 PCI bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] RS780/RS880 PCI to PCI bridge (PCIE port 0) 00:05.0 PCI bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] RS780/RS880 PCI to PCI bridge (PCIE port 1) 00:07.0 PCI bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] RS780 PCI to PCI bridge (PCIE port 3) 00:11.0 SATA controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI SB7x0/SB8x0/SB9x0 SATA Controller [IDE mode] 00:12.0 USB controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI SB7x0/SB8x0/SB9x0 USB OHCI0 Controller 00:12.1 USB controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI SB7x0 USB OHCI1 Controller 00:12.2 USB controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI SB7x0/SB8x0/SB9x0 USB EHCI Controller 00:13.0 USB controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI SB7x0/SB8x0/SB9x0 USB OHCI0 Controller 00:13.1 USB controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI SB7x0 USB OHCI1 Controller 00:13.2 USB controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI SB7x0/SB8x0/SB9x0 USB EHCI Controller 00:14.0 SMBus: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI SBx00 SMBus Controller (rev 3c) 00:14.1 IDE interface: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI SB7x0/SB8x0/SB9x0 IDE Controller 00:14.3 ISA bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI SB7x0/SB8x0/SB9x0 LPC host controller 00:14.4 PCI bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI SBx00 PCI to PCI Bridge 00:14.5 USB controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI SB7x0/SB8x0/SB9x0 USB OHCI2 Controller 00:18.0 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] Family 10h Processor HyperTransport Configuration 00:18.1 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] Family 10h Processor Address Map 00:18.2 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] Family 10h Processor DRAM Controller 00:18.3 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] Family 10h Processor Miscellaneous Control 00:18.4 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] Family 10h Processor Link Control 01:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd.
