[riot-devel] Issue #2623

2015-04-27 Thread David Reinert
Just a question for anyone that can answer it. Is it possible to use git grep
along sed or an equivalent in order to find and change a multiline pattern. I
cannot really find an adequate answer in any documentation on eiter utility.
This would allow me to find ifndef/define pairs that make up the header guards
and edit them in one command. My first attempt ran into the issue of changes
ALL defines in files under boards/ which created problems because i could not
fix the ifndefs and defines simultaneously

Re: [riot-devel] N2 Project

2015-03-23 Thread David Reinert
The way I envision it is as a starting point for RIOT, a base. Once the project
is integrated, then we can make changes to it as we see fit. Is that an
accurate picture or is it more a case of utilizing the project and handling
changes to that project that affect RIOT as they occur on Wakaama independently
through patches? Perhaps some combination of those?

 Hi David,

when using Wakaama (which is certainly an option), the way would be to
include it in RIOT as a package and include some Makefiles that are able to
download/checkout the library and build it into RIOT. When choosing this
path, one important thing is to think of a concept for continuous
integration, so that the Makefiles and patches can be adjusted to changes of
the Wakaama implementation in an easy way.

I am almost certainly planning on using the Wakaama project(formerly

RIOT/pkg/ or is it more involved than that? I am just trying to get a
picture of what the final project would look like so I can better form a
 clear timeline. Thanks!

[riot-devel] GSOC Project Proposal

2015-03-16 Thread David Reinert
Hello all, I am having a little trouble forming my project proposal for the N2
project. I have found an implementation of the lwM2M protocol but I'm too sure
what to do with it and I was hoping someone could shed some light on it for me
so I can get a starting point for the project

[riot-devel] IRC channel #riot-os

2015-03-07 Thread David Reinert
Hello all, I've been trying to find people on the IRC channel on freenode but
so far the last few times I've logged on there has not been anyone else on. Is
there a specific time to be on? I really would like to get a discussion started
with the veteran RIOT developers so I can start forming a project proposal as
soon as possible. I am quite eager to get the ball rolling. The channel is
#riot-os correct?
