[riot-devel] Missing Libraries

2016-08-10 Thread MiTsArAs Jimaras
Good Morning again from Greece!
I managed to compile the project to Arduino Uno. I assume that my problem is at
the shell script, neither arduino nor qemu (even if it seems broken) can run
the script.

So I decided to build it again on C.
When I do that, some libraries such as and are missing from
RIOT.
What do I have to do to import them?

[riot-devel] Απ: Απ: Απ: Απ: Problem with "make" -lm missing.

2016-08-09 Thread MiTsArAs Jimaras
Hi again.

The point is that the VM hasn't got an OS.

I mean that when I try to run the app on VM, the VM must not have
Linux/MacOSX/Windows or whatever.

The only thing that exists on the VM must be the RIOT app.

From that point of view, yes, an OS must be running.

P.S: Anyone who have tried to run an app on Arduino Uno, please be kind to tell
me if they succeed!

Thanks!

Hi,

If you have been told to write an application that runs on a VM without using
an OS, RIOT is not the answer because it is an OS, so your application is using
an OS.

Apart from that there is no difference between running on native and running on
QEMU from the application point of view.

As René already said: you probably should clarify the intention of the task
with your teachers.

Cheers,
Ludwig

Arduino uno is not fully functional for now, depends on your
application needs
Basically, UART and timers should work, gpio are untested, no pwm

Fetch #5590 and #5451 PR and try

Good luck,

Hi,

then either ask your prof / TA what your objective is or drop the class.
You may quote the author of the qemu-i386 port (that's me) that the port is in
a bad shape (that's true).
But you are also welcome to bring the port up to speed, but please accept that
we won't jump because the need port right now.

RIOT has full support for multiple inexpensive boards that might work better
for you than emulation.

So I found RIOT OS, I created the app, and I managed to run it through

Now I want to do the same with qemu-i386 architecture! That's all!

Hi,
can you please clarify what you are trying to achive? As Ludwig already pointed
out to you [1] RIOT isn't meant to run in a VM (or on a PC for that matter).
Running RIOT as native (in a normal process, not in a VM!) should suffice for
most use-cases that involve virtualization, and for running on real hardware we
would really recommend to get your hands on some.

So before you stray into the wrong direction with your experiments (and getting
more and more frustrated in the process), maybe it would be more helpful for
you if we actually would know what you are trying to do.

Cheers,
Martine

There seems to be something broken.
The linker should not care for provided .so files at all.

[riot-devel] Απ: Απ: Make bootable .elf file!

2016-07-29 Thread MiTsArAs Jimaras
Ok I got it..

Now I get this on make all:

"make" -C /home/dimitris/RIOT/pkg/tlsf
"make" -C /home/dimitris/RIOT/boards/qemu-i386
"make" -C /home/dimitris/RIOT/boards/x86-multiboot-common
"make" -C /home/dimitris/RIOT/core
"make" -C /home/dimitris/RIOT/cpu/x86
"make" -C /home/dimitris/RIOT/drivers
"make" -C /home/dimitris/RIOT/sys
"make" -C /home/dimitris/RIOT/sys/auto_init
"make" -C /home/dimitris/RIOT/sys/quad_math
/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/5/../../../../lib32/libm.so: undefined reference
to `__get_cpu_features@GLIBC_PRIVATE'

It's so messed up, I am searching at least for 4 hours now...

It is not possible to run a 'native' binary directly on 'qemu-i386',
correct.

[riot-devel] Απ: Make bootable .elf file!

2016-07-28 Thread MiTsArAs Jimaras
Hello and sorry for that multi-sending mails!

I have done this 'make term' and 'make all' processes. I have produced .elf and
.hex files.

Now I want that .elf file to somehow boot on QEMU. Do I have to convert it to
.bin and do the process?
I am not sure how to do this. My .elf file runs fine on native debian.
I try to boot from .elf wirh qemu-system-i386 command but nothing happens.
Every solution you can come up with, would be a huge boost for me!
Thanks!

that's cool!

You mean you want to run your project on native? Have you tried to run
'make term'?

 Michael

[riot-devel] Make bootable .elf file!

2016-07-28 Thread MiTsArAs Jimaras
Hello.
I just ended a project of mine using RIOT OS.
I produced the .elf file and now I want to make this bootable, in order to
start at QEMU autonomus.
How can this be possible? Do I need to make an .img file? And if yes, how?
Thanks!
