RE: [digitalradio] Fwd: [dxlab] DXKeeper 8.1.6 enhancement for LOTW and some digital modes

2009-09-06 Thread Dave AA6YQ
Thanks, Andy.

For those not familiar with the term "synchronizing" with respect to LotW
operations, it means automatically

1. updating QSOs uploaded to LotW to reflect their subsequent acceptance by
LotW (setting "LotW QSL Sent" to 'Y' and recording the date in "LotW QSL
Sent Date")

2. updating QSOs uploaded uploaded to LotW to reflect their confirmation via
LotW (setting "LotW QSL Rcvd" to 'Y' and recording the date in "LotW QSL
Rcvd Date")

The first operation is typically initiated a few hours after uploading to
LotW -- unless there's a contest in progress or just ending, in which case
its best to wait a full day. The second operation is initiated whenever you
want to check for new confirmations.

 Dave, AA6YQ

This release

- when synchronizing QSOs or QSLs with LotW, QSOs reported by LotW whose
Mode is DATA are considered to match a logged QSO whose mode "counts" as
RTTY for ARRL awards (tnx to Bob WU9Q)

- updates the AwardInfo.htm, index.htm, Log.htm, LogCompletedMain.htm,
LogNewCapture.htm, LogNewMain.htm, ModifyLog.htm, Progress.htm, QSL.htm,
Scripts.htm, and ViewEditLog.htm documentation files

If your are uploading digital mode QSOs to LotW where the digital mode is
not yet supported by LotW (e.g. JT65A), configure TQSL to "map" these
unsupported digital modes to DATA. The above enhancement allows DXKeeper to
locate these QSOs in your log when directed to synchronize with LotW;
previously, DXKeeper would report such QSOs as not matching any logged QSO
because of the change in mode introduced by TQSL.

Usually JT65A can be found there.

It can be decoded using the WSJT software, by K1JT.

Hi Marco...from the description and frequency you have given it sounds
like its JT65A
this is one of the modes of WSJT by Joe Taylor..there are a large
number of stations in EU and USA as well as Japan and other countries
who use this mode...
it is classed as a weak signal mode and TX for 48 seconds then RX for
the next minute
software for this mode is available in both Windows and Linux from K1JT
Joe Taylors site

if i can be of further assistance please dont hesitate to writr an
e-mail to me

Hi,

I agree that the SoftRock pages are confusing, you can only buy kits although
it's easy to find someone who will construct for you.

The RX-only is the v9, wait 'till SDR-RADIO.com is running then you can have a
play.

So, I have to get me one of them SDR radios. Just what is the deal with
Softrock, are they for purchase commonly? The web page is awfully confusing,
makes it looks like they are not fully in business. Genesis SDR's look
promising but still very early in their deveopment at the moment.. FLEX , too
many Euros for my budget.

SDR-RADIO.com is a SDR console - connect a SDR radio such as the SoftRock
receiver and you can receive 160m to 10m, at least 100kHz bandwidth at a
time.

Not just a receiver - it will decode CW (similar to CW skimmer), monitor for
RSID / CALLID, do lots of other great things (tm) which are still t.b.a.
Once I get it available you'll see what I mean.

Later it will support TX using SDR as well.

Since this integrates with DM780, what does the software actually "do"
? I assume that HRD and DM780 do all the work, so is it essentially
just a 10 kHZ waterfall?

Today I am simply scanning 14070, 14073, 14076, and 14107.5 in 5 second
intervals (all VFO frequencies) . I am in no particular mode, but DO have RS

will receive an audible alert. Try calling CQ with RS ID enabled at the
