Re: [digitalradio] Re: ROS discussion - will it ever end

2010-03-01 Thread Lee - AA5J
Gee-whillikers! Why don't you folks just filter on the keyword in the
subject and direct all hits to another folder? Most of the posts today
have been on the subject of "ROS discussion - will it ", which
certainly has absolutely nothing to do with digital communications.

[digitalradio] PTT lockup FT-2600M Packet

2009-07-07 Thread Lee
Hello,

Anyone have this occur to them? Our packet group is working on our system and
this has come up.

" have the Yasue FT-2600M wired up and ready to go but cannot get the ptt key
from the db9 on the back of this radio. I think it is something in the
programing. I checked and the tx was locked. I turned it off and now the ptt
will key the radio from the mic jack in the front of the radio but not from the
db9 packet jack in the rear. If you know anything about the 2600m perhaps you
can tell me what to do."

I have told my group member to check the cards in the radio for a good ground.

[digitalradio] Re: PSK interface

2009-05-23 Thread Lee
Hello Lew,

I plan on getting a Signal Link after reading the reports here, 99.00 is not
bad either. However that does not help Jerry here with the unit he is trying to
get to work or Identify it so he can get some documentation.

[digitalradio] Sound card systems for ARES

2009-05-17 Thread Lee
Hello Folks,

I am looking for what you have used or have read about. I have been using TNCs
for my packet operations and now need to know other options using a sound card.
This is for VHF/UHF and HF.

The software has to be error correcting. Can be used to connect peer to peer
(station to station) and / or to a BBS and / or email Ie:winlink.

Why I need this. I have ask by my DEC to make a presentation for methods of
using "packet" to send messages for his Area. I have a pretty good handle on
the TNC methods but not using a soundcard.

So what you got. I will be making my presentation May 30th.

Thank you and 73

[digitalradio] Re: High speed packet

2008-09-09 Thread Lee
Have you tried Outpost or Winpack. Outpost is a newer program and
Winpack has some age. The AGWpe software may be needed to bridge these
programs. I will be using a uTNT, in kiss, with AGWpe and Winpack some.

[digitalradio] Re: Help a packet newbie

2007-12-26 Thread Lee
Hi Craig,

http://www.elcom.gr/sv2agw/ will get you to a new AGW Packet Engine
version.. The non pro version is not being upgraded from what I hear,
and the pro suppose to be more stable.

Winpac is a good Windows program for an upstart and experts
alike. "Free" too, the only ask for a donation to a cancer charity.
http://www.apritch.myby.co.uk/mainpage.htm and
http://f5vag.eu/software.html, found a download for 6.8 on these.

You may find good links here
http://www.rmham.org/files/packet/index.html

Dick Sisson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> may be able to give you some info on
local node and bbs resources.

I know there are Winlink Telac Gateways ( soon to be RMS Gateways).

Good luck and if I can be of ay help you got my email :-)
