[IxDA Discuss] Fixed or rotating feedback icon?
Hi, Has anyone conducted usability studies or knows about user preference for a fixed position rotating feedback icon (eg. [+] Feedback) versus a rotating and scrolling one which follows the user as they scroll up and down a page. Thanks, Shima Welcome to the Interaction Design Association (IxDA)! [IxDA Discuss] How to Get Useful Feedback from Customer Support?
Hi, Our UX team would like to work more collaboratively with our customer support team in getting the top customers' issues. We usually receive feedback such as change this to ... or move this to It's more suggestions and recommendations on what they want to see improved rather than the actual customers' issues. I am wondering about how you (as the UX team) communicate with your customer support team on getting the raw underlying customers' issues. Do you train your customer support team on what they need to look for to provide the UX team with valuable data? Thank you, Shima Welcome to the Interaction Design Association (IxDA)! Re: [IxDA Discuss] Going beyond Usability: The need to design for Persuasion, Emotion, and Trust
I recently took Susan's HFI PET design course (design for persuation, emotion and trust) course and really like it. It was a 3-day couse and she covered a lot in it. It was a good read and covered 9 different persuasion techniques. My only complaint is that I wish it covered even more. To the points made by others, I agree, and think that in addition to having it all packaged up another benefit is that it gives us the vocabulary to start the discussion with regarding persuasion techniques. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Re: [IxDA Discuss] Best Practices in Usability Testing of Search Results Page
We would like to test 5-6 different designs of a search results page and want to know if users notice some elements or information on the different designs. Are there best practices (besides counter balancing) in usability test of search results pages? We have an eye tracker that can be beneficial in the usability test.
