Okay, feeling slightly stupid -- when I set it to US again and went to the "Last.fm" tab I now noticed there is a link that says "Authorize this account" -- a click and a button press later the account was authorized and now I can play Last.fm on my squeezeboxen. Thanks so much for helping out, guys. [slim] Idea for basic integration with iTunes Genius
I'm still liking Genius mixes. They're not as varied as Music IP, and you don't get so many obscure tracks, but I've not managed to get MiP working on my mac system yet so they're all i have. Now SC picks up the Genius playlist when it scans iTunes but it's rather inconvenient hitting Genius in SC, going to settings, scanning for new and changed music. Waiting. Waiting again. Then finally adding it to a playlist. Have you tried the latest 7.3.3 version of SC? I managed to get it to work by disconnect my firewall on my Mac OS X, I use cable. Noticing the same hiss problem here. A little about my setup.. SC 7.3.2 running on a Thecus N5200PRO --> Wired ethernet to SB Duet Receiver --> Coax out to CA DACMagic --> Analog out to Arcam A65+ I'm noticing the problem exclusively on AAC/mp4 files, regardless of bit rate. I have tried inserting the faad work around (as described earlier in thread) into my custom-convert file. After I did this, I heard no change with default file type settings. Tried disabling everything except WAV output, which led to the controller showing the track playing but no audio coming out of my speakers. FYI, I've tried playing back the same tracks through ITunes to an airport express running through the same DAC and they sound great, so the problem is not with the tracks. [slim] Stuttering/pauses during playback from local network
I have been using a Squeezebox receiver (the type that comes with the duet package) along with an iPod Touch + iPeng as remote. Recently the receiver has started suddenly stopping in the middle of songs (which are stored on my server on the same local network), pausing up to several seconds before resuming playback. This seems to occur quite randomly. The indicator on the box simply goes from bright white to the "paused" white. It never changes color, so i assume it is not a network connectivity problem. Anyone know what could be causing this problem? During network setup for a wireless connection you've to answer a question about the region (USA, Europe, etc.) to get the proper wireless channels enabled afaik. How (wireless or wired) do you connect the Squeezebox to your network? Do you have a computer with Squeezecenter installed? Should the Squeezebox ask for which Country it is when you set it up? My Squeezebox dont ask for it, in the manual it tells you that it should ask that. Then it asks for connecting to SqueezeboxNetwork but then the display just go dead, what is wrong? It cant find the SN and I cant play anything through it. I think you should still be able to get it to work, somebody on here will know what's going on. I get the same message as you about it knowing that I am lying about still be ing in the UK (now based in Aus). But I can still stream Last.fm through SqueezeNetwork OK I used to get that message about not being authorized and it was actually that i hadn't completed something on either the Last.fm or SN site, can't remember what it was though! Perhaps I haven't explained it properly - it would respond to the broadcast with a direct packet containing the IP of the Squeezecentre. I've come across this type of utility before with software that relies on broadcast yet may have to work in a multi IP subnet environment. Called a relay agent IIRC.
