Re: [slim] Cant find my music
How to improve re-scanning/scanning of library? It looks like I resolved my issues above by doing a new, clean install (and maybe changing to Avast antivirus as AVG reported Squeezeserver as a theat) Anyway, it takes about 5-6hours to scan the library (2500 albums in Flac on a NAS) from scratch. Does this corresponds to your experience? I have set a total rescan every morning at 3 AM to update my collection. I dont feel that a search for new music catches edits I make like correcting tags and artwork properly or misses new additions. Thats why I to a total rescan. In comparison, Sonos finds a newly added album in 10-15 minutes, where SBS needs a couple of hours. Re: [slim] Squeezecenter Remote vs ITouch
I have the Controller and iPeng on my iPod Touch. 99.9% of the time I use iPeng rather than the Controller. The only thing the Controller has is that it can be used as a portable Squeezebox player (through the headphone jack), but the next version of iPeng should add that functionality. However, I find that the Controller has problems with wireless streaming and I have to limit all streams to it at 320kbps (meaning the server has to transcode FLAC files down to that level). At the moment my Controller is sat in it's cradle in the living room acting as a nice, albeit expensive, clock. Given that an iPod+iPeng is cheaper and the iPod so much more flexible as a device, it really is an easy choice. -- DoomWolf DoomWolf's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8839 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=76622 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
