What I dont understand is why half of all the local FM channels display Artist, Song Title, Favorite name correctly; while the rest of the FM channels do not Are there any differences/similarities between channels that work and those that don't such as service provider (e.g. streamtheworld, liquidcompass, iheart) or format (e.g. WMA, AAC, MP3) ? Logs will help as it will indicate what metadata is being received. Playlist may be tricky ? if they contain links to files outside your specified library or to disks that no longer exist or similar. I know there were major problems with their servers over the weekend at Last.fm but their website seems to be up and running now. For the last couple of days I've been having problems playing any stations through last.fm. Are there still problems? My request is to have different setups defined and being able to choose between them by pressing a single button - preferably on the main screen. I have players in the kitchen, living room and bathroom + a controller. For those players I would create at least these setups for different scenarios: 1) Normal; All players synced. Controller separate. 2) Bath; Kitchen and living room synced, bathroom separate, Controller separate. 3) Alternative; All players and controller synced (I know that the controller doesn't sync well, but it's ok for listening to the same music in the garage). The setups should not just be groups but complete definitions of all players - in other words it should be possible to define several groups in one setup. Switching control between groups in a setup should just be like switching between players. BPA, I really appreciate your time and help. Just to be clear the problem in the display is not limited to softsqueeze and other software players. I can see the same kind of mess up in SBS's display as well. Its obvious to me the feed itself includes metadata thats not specifically formatted for Squeezebox products. It looks like they were meant more for the iphone/itunes; as they mention Iphone Akamai and itunes in feed metadata. Here's what these radio stations look like in SBS: [image: http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h283/mkanet/Screenshot-1384.jpg] I'm not sure why it would look correctly for someone else's squeezebox hardware client; but not look correctly in SBS. However, this doesnt prove that the Internet radio stations that display correctly don't come from the same provider/source; all I can see is they display correctly (both in SBS and softsqueeze. I think Radiotime is the culprit. Normally metadata is just displayed without processing. The metadata you show seems to be formatted with id/value pairs expecting it to be processed again. My suspicion about Radiotime is my experience with BBC. I'm not sure if this is still the case but if you play the BBC WMA URL taken from BBC - then no metadata is shown about program info whereas if the BBC WMA URL is sourced from Radiotime - program info is displayed. Check your tags Some time ago I had a similar problem I have a 20cd box with VA music and on my Touch wrong artwork (always the same artwork) was showing for all songs from that album. Web ui was OK then playing but if I browse by album, the wrong artwork was shown to the left. I definitely agree, we need to remember that a few people might have a
lot of players but most people interested in the synchronization
functionality are only going to have 2 or 3 players.
To me, the sync groups is more about having a logical name for a group
and easily being able to start playing music in a specific group
without the need to mess around with sync settings in all the players
not in the group.
Another issue is that I'm going to want to be able to handle this on
multiple remote controls. When I'm in the living room I'm going to have
the iPad but when I move to another room I might only have access to the
iPhone in my pocket. Due to this, I have a feeling a server side plugin
would be a better solution than an implementation directly in an
iPad/iPhone app, at least as long as the sync group definitions are
stored locally in the app.
The obvious disadvantage with using a server side plugin is that it's
not going to work with MySB.com.

[slim] Stop updating while the system is in use!
Second time now in a short while that my Duet player stops playing and starts updating it FW. Why can it not do that while it is not in use? I want music, not looking at circling wheels on the Duet controller... I will try that. What's weird is that where the album art is wrong it shows a still image of home videos I have in my iTunes movies section. The way I see it the first point doesn't have to be too complicated - it is basically a two-level grouping: When you define a scenario, you create and assign one or more groups to the scenario and assign each player to exactly one group. I didn't really consider the second point - possibly because I rarely sync players during playback, but I can see how this could cause problems:-) You might also be right that it is overkill - and I don't have the use case for it at the moment either. The main reasons for the idea was: 1) It seemed logical that the app should always know and control the state of all players. 2) Sometimes players are logically connected and should never be unsynced (i.e. our living room and kitchen are not separated by walls so playing different music on those would be quite confusing so they are either both playing the same or one of them is switched off). If you have more players like this it would make sense to be able to keep them synced even when you change group setup. When users switch sync settings they typically do that for a particalur reason (i.e. starting a party, going to the bathroom, going to the garage ...). I only change sync settings if my wife wants to listen to something in the shower and I want to listen to something different in the living room or vice versa:) the rest I control by switching players on or off - but that may be because sync control from the players is so lousy:) Rarely I think this involves using multiple non-overlapping sync-groups at once (and even if: they could be activated with one click more). Probably true! From your scenarios I see an interesting use case though: Until now I only thought about synching a group of players - but not unsyncing. So I need to think a bit more about how users are supposed to get back from scenario 3 to 2. By making sure you don't just activate a group but a complete scenario that covers the sync state of all players;) One solution would be to unsync everyone else that is not in the group? That would probably satisfy my needs. I haven't really thought about what should happen to the playlist when a group is unsynced (partially or completely) - going from my scenario 1 to 2 or 3 to 2. In my case I would probably prefer that the old group playlist was transferred to all players involved, because sometimes the playlist belongs to the bathroom, and sometimes to the rest of the house. On the Radio, press the back (left arrow) button and hold it for about 2 seconds until it backs out. But the popup will come back.
