I haven't looked into the N800 tablets, so I can't really tell.
Squeezster depends on QT 4.7, which I don't think is available on the
N800 series.

Re: [slim] Announcing SqueezePad - the first dedicated iPad App to controll your SqueezeBoxen !

2011-05-11 Thread bluegaspode

Guido - another idea just came to my mind:

Is this only happening when you use the playback feature and have some
Radio stream running (if so: what stream ?)
Maybe the streams has some strange metadata that I try to send to the
server (and which it doesn't like and makes SqueezePad disconnect).

Could you try playing some tunes from your local library or using
SqueezePad just as a remote for another Squeezebox if you get the same
disconnects?

[slim] last.fm loved tracks

2011-05-11 Thread whistlingdogg

I use last.fm from a browser on my laptop at work and add tracks that I
like as loved tracks.

I also have quite a large library of music on my whs server at home
running squeezebox server that I play through my ipad/iphone (ipeng)
and squeezebox receiver.

What I would like to do is create a playlist of my loved tracks in
squeezbox server but only the ones I actually have locally (hope that
makes sense).

I can export loved tracks from last.fm in a xspf format (xml) which is
supported my squeezebox server but I don't see how this will know
where my local files are on the server (and indeed it doesn't).

I guess I need something that will parse the xspf file and create a
playlist for squeezebox based on matches.

Ideally I would love something that keeps these two in sync
automatically but I'll settle for a manual process.

Any ideas?

[slim] UK Stock?

2011-05-11 Thread Gibbo

In addition to the question about Boom stock, what's going on?

The screen on my controller has broken, purchased through amazon,
they've said they'll refund as they have no stock of the Duet.

Curry's and PCworld have the boom for £70 and the Duet for £120 so
figured great, can buy both with the money but they have no stock. I
guess people buying them up to sell on ebay? But it seems that most
places are out of stock of both the boom and the duet? What's going on?
major shortage? end of line for both items?

Obviously there are places selling the duet, but I'm just wondering
what's going on with product lines.

Re: [slim] UK Stock?

2011-05-11 Thread Soulkeeper

I hope they don't waste their time on a Duet MKII. The Touch is better
than the Receiver in all respects (except size and price, but IMO
that's not nearly enough to weigh up for all the other limitations),
and the Controller isn't all that great when you compare it to all the
other options, for example Droid+SC.

A Boom MKII I do hope for, very much.

But only time will be willing to tell.

Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] Music-Playback now on ANDROID! SqueezePlayer released to the market ...

2011-05-11 Thread mrfantasy

here's the scenario: Traveling around campus, or town, coming in and
out of Wifi/3g areas (our cable ISP also runs lots of WiFi in the area,
and my Droid is configured to autoconnect to it.)

If I disable WiFi and have my Droid only connecting with 3G, it will
normally just keep working when it's in 3G range. If I'm in Wifi and
don't drop it it also works. But if it changes, SqueezePlayer acts
like it's still connected but SqueezeCommander (for instance, but
really my server) doesn't see the player anymore. I have to manually
turn off and on music playback in SqueezePlayer to get it back.

Ideally, there'd be a way for SqueezePlayer to do connection monitoring
and reestablish if the network shifts (and if it happens quickly enough
not interrupt music playback, but that depends on caching, network
speed, and how long the phone takes to renegotiate connections). At
the very least it should reconnect as soon as possible and restart
music playback (probably dependent on player settings).

Mhmm - I'd think it would do that already as when moving one connection
will be dropped (already by Android), SqueezePlayer will get an error
code and will try to reconnect in 5 seconds. If then only the other
connection type is available it will/should take it.
So for some reason I think Android is not closing the connection
correctly. What Android version are you using?

Will try tonight to reproduce it somehow (but will be difficult as
running around in my flat is in full WiFi range :D )

Keeping the stream playing won't work, as the download stream gets
dropped and if I reastablish it, I will get the next song already.

Thanks for the suggestion

If that does not help I'd like you to turn on some debug logging:
server settings-advanced-protocol. Change network.cometd to debug

Then send the logs to support(at)squeezepad.com.
Please provide at least 1 lines you can change the number of lines

This is definitely not normal operation and I hope that the logs
 provide some new clues.

I rebooted server and router. No change. Still flashes the yellow

In my browser there is no server settings-advanced-protocol. However,
there is server settings-advanced-logging-Squeezebox Server Log

I will submit when I get about 1000 lines.

No radio stream running. Only playing tracks from local library. Only

artwork screen.

Just thought of something: I recently plugged the Vortexbox Server into

Seems unlikely, but I did test this hypothesis by stopping apcupsd

How could you control 2 players simultaneously, unless they're
sync'ed?
SqueezeCommander's user interface, like all SqueezePlay based
controllers' ones, requires you to select one player to control.
That being said, nothing prevents you from switching back and forth
players.

Players don't automatically synchronize to each others by default, if
that's what worries you.
What's a LR, by the way?

OK, I bypassed the UPS, turned on my iPad and . . . NO YELLOW FLASHES!

So I plugged everything back in the UPS and STILL NO FLASHES.

Obviously, to do this I had to perform a power down (rather than merely
a reboot). That appears to have solved the problem. I hope it is a
permanent fix.

I'm running CyanogenMod 7.0.3 (Android 2.3.3) on a Motorola Droid. It
may be a problem with the connection dropping or reestablishment like
you said. This phone is also CDMA instead of GSM and that might be
affecting the behavior as well.

You could probably simulate the problem by manually turning off WiFi,
but it may not be the same as losing signal.

The jumping song thing is understandable. I thought there might be an
issue like that.

I'll be happy to run a test version or whatever you might need to help
you figure it out. Just let me know.

Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] SqueezeCommander 0.9 for Android

You can sync your Players with SqueezeCommander, *otherwise they will
 have independent playlists*.

I don't know if I'll find it practical but it's a cool capability being
able to play music from different folders on separate players. If my
kids were small I think I could find some good use for this :)

Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] SqueezeCommander 0.9 for Android

2011-05-11 Thread MikeekiM

Been working great for me up until tonight...

Only one of my players is showing up on the list of devices... In the
meantime, my two duet controllers and my browser-based Squeezebox
client all show all of my devices...

Not sure what to do... the refresh isn't doing anything...I power
cycled my phone...

Any ideas?

Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] Squidget - A SqueezeBox Widget for Android

2011-05-11 Thread strindberg

I see some weirdness with regard to the player list. Sporadically, when
I press the player icon, Squidget reports No items to display instead
of the player list. If I immediately press the player button again, it
usually finds and displays the players. This has happened 3-4 times
during the last couple of days.

Last night, when I turned to Squidget, it was displaying a laptop as a
player icon, although I only had a few regular Squeezeboxes of various
types connected to the server (i.e. no iPeng or Squeezeplayer). When I
pressed the player icon, it reported No items to display. When I
pressed it again, I could choose among the connected players. I started
Squeezecommander to search for a song and started playing it. When I
then went back to Squidget, it was again displaying the laptop icon.

Unfortunately I didn't think of looking at what player name Squidget
was displaying at the time.
