Re: [slim] Windows: update file modified date based on created date
I use the Custom Browse menu for new albums. For me it shows the albums in the order I added them to SBS. It is a bit slow on my setup though. I had to limit it to 200 albums to get it to show at all and still it sometimes chokes SBS. You could also import your SBS database into muso. Muso has a nice view where you can have the albums sorted by date added (a-z or z-a) the way you want to (and you can suppress single file albums, for example, from showing up if you like). I still keep the standard new music menu to check that any tag changes I make are picked up by SBS. -- vagskal 2 x SB3 (wired), Receiver (wired), Boom (wireless), Controller, iPeng on iPhone 4 & iPad, muso on remote computer running Win 7 64-bit | 7.5.4 on Win XP vagskal's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=20778 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87887 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Using Apple Lossless in a wireless system.
The vast majority of my music is M4A: apple lossless. So far as I understand, this is converted by the SBS to flac for playback. I'm not sure about the Touch since the gods have not provided one for me to test but if it proves to to incapable of serving M4A, it would be a real deficit. Normally, I use the + (plus) sign to open another tab. I normally spend less than a few minutes a week on "ube." Of course, this might be really clever on oid or ple. Re: [slim] AWARD: YouTube Plugin
Now this went actually much much faster then I expected it to go :) Did I mention I always think I should have done this earlier? OK, here we go Fanfare! And the winner is Triode! http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?p=632918 His plugin is so cool, it definitely opens up so much more music to my Squeezebox. OK, YouTube may not be for "serious" listening, but face it: there is just EVERYTHING out there. Just today, I - again - heard some obscure song on the radio which I really find and which I never actually could get hold of - not through Amazon, iTunes, Napster or Spotify which are the sources I usually try (OK, maybe it's due to the band name which translates into English somewhat like "The dead crack-whores in the trunk"). Know what, this time I found it and guess where :) So, let's get to the important point: Triode really earned himself the iPad. Now the only questions left (to Triode) are: - Which iPad do you want, 32GB WiFi or 16GB 3G? - Which choice of SmartCover do you want? (and to myself) - Where the hell do I get an Apple power adapter clip for the UK from... Thanks for doing this, it's a great plugin and I believe it will seriously enrich the Squeezebox Universe. Let's hope YouTube now keeps their links as they are... -- pippin --- see iPeng, the Squeezebox iPhone remote and *New: iPeng for iPad*, at penguinlovesmusic.com pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87657 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

You have to admit, this problem is temporary in its very nature. :) Best avoided by tagging the albums properly the first time, so you won't have to revisit. Now to answer your questions: 1) I don't think so. 2) There are a lot of utilities to set the date to something specific, but I am not aware of any software that does exactly what you want. [slim] Windows: update file modified date based on created date
SqueezeCenter lists 'New Music' based on modified date rather than created date. Therefore if I go through updating artwork, or any other tag data, I lose the natural order. The created date is untouched, and seems to be much more reliable for reflecting when files entered my library. 1) Can I use this for determining new music instead of the modified date? 2) If not, as I suspect, does anyone know of a utility to update the file modified date based on created date? I've found a few which allow manual stipulation of a date, but not which will perform batch updates based on another value. -- hunta hunta's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=333 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87887 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Connecting... Buffering... Connecting... Buffering... Connecting... Buffering...
Have you tried increasing Radio Station Buffer it is helpful if the station has a "lumpy" stream. Increase WebUI Setting/Advanced Network/Radio Station Buffer and click Apply. Another suggestion If the stream is MP3 or WMA then the stream goes from station direct to Boom to be played. If the stream is MP3 or WMA then you can try getting SBS to proxy the stream and so the stream goes from station to PC and then to Boom so PC will do the networking handling. Change WebUI Settings/Player/Audio/MP3 Streaming Methods/ to "Proxied Streaming" and click Apply. Ignore the "MP3" IIRC it is true for both WMA and MP3 -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87859 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
