I agree, proper cover art handling by SBS, that satisfies a wide range of user needs, requires a number of well-thought-out options, one of which you enumerate above. Looking at the bug report, there's been a lot of discussion but no consensus, and nothing is scheduled to be changed in the 7.x timeframe (8.0.0 target milestone). So it seems that the best strategy to ensure proper handling of art by SBS 7.6.1 is to remove all embedded art work and use cover.jpg in the album directory. This conclusion likely holds for all versions of SBS in the 7.x series as well. -- Ron Olsen Ron Olsen's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9233 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=90111 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

[slim] Spotify Premium / Touch - Not playing certain tracks?
Hi there Anyone else using Spotify Premium with SB? I've noticed an increasing number of tracks / albums that can be searched and displayed using Spotify on the Touch, but will not play when selected? (Oddly, when I select them from within Spotify they will normally play? Also, I notice that the Touch will display albums and not play them that do not even show up on the Win PC under Spotify). I'm getting a little frustrated by what looks like a growing amount of content not available to play with SB Touch / Spotify. Anyone else had similar? I'm in the UK. [slim] Sirius,It's Back:stream stopped;you are no longer...
Well, unfortunately the stoppages continue and in spite of a Sirius Internet Radio paid subscription, the dreaded message stream stopped; You are no longer authorized to listen! I feel like I ran a red light or something. After continuously paying my subscription fee I do not think this is fair. The service is endorsed by Logotech and Sirius endorses Logitech. I try to listen to Sirius Services on SBS and until just yesterday I thought the bug (#17157) was fixed. The Sirius stations were very stable with beta 7.6.2 r33340. I tried to go back from the latest nightly(r33449) to r33340 but it would not download. AndyG worked on this bug and it was supposedly fixed, but it is back. It is dissapointing and very frustrating. I'm sure AndyG must be also. Could anyone please help. You might want to generate a checksum database since WAV doesn't have good built-in error detection for corrupt files. Re: [slim] Control your SqueezeBox or Transporter with Foobar2000
Hello! I'm not supporting this script any more for entirely selfish reasons (1. I downsized to a tiny flat and the transporter is in storage, 2. I got very little interest in the script). I'll share my last unpublished version of the script, although I don't think it addresses the gapless issues, for me it provided better stability but please judge for yourself. I think the gapless issue may be addressed by setting a shorter time to the looptimer (sleep(50) close to the bottom of the script. I had set it to a higher value earlier. Please note that this version of the script automatically loads FB2K. I hope that this can help in some way. +---+ |Filename: FooSQ - v137.zip | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=12508| +---+ -- stuffedspacedog stuffedspacedog's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=38655 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79575 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Problems moving from Windows to OS X
I recently purchased a new Mac min and have been slowly migrating my life from my old Windows machine to OS X. I've run into a little snag with the OS X version of Squeezebox Server that I can't seem to work around. When scanning my music disk, the server is able to find and scan most of my music, but fails to parse the CDs ripped as a single FLAC file and CUE sheet. I'm able to see the artist and album in the library, but the contents are just listed as empty. This was never a problem when running on Windows, but seems to be an issue on OS X. If I use the web interface to navigate directly to the directory using the Music Folders page and then play the album, the server recognizes the CUE file, parses it properly and adds the music to the database. From then on out, that CD is recognized normally by the server. I've since moved back to using the Windows box for the Squeezebox server, but would like to mothball it at some point and get my life onto the Mac mini exclusively. Any thoughts? Re: [slim] Why is it showing double albums on my Touch?
Try doing a wipe and rescan. I have had this happen as well ONLY using the built in server on the Touch. So I either do a wipe and rescan or I delete the cache folder on my attached USB drive.. Works for me... I am also currently using 7.7.0_r9532 as NONE of the 7.6.1 releases worked for me. It ALWAYS failed on the scaning of artwork with the local service has stopped due to an error, error. So far this release has worked perfectly for me... -- bitstopjoe Joe Sica bitstopjoe's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=45024 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87155 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Fixed Volume Causes Loud Sound when Music is Paused etc.
Apparently this issue is still very much alive in version 7.6.1; I stumbled on this thread while researching the issue I have been having with my SB3: pausing playback sometimes causes a loud tone to be played continuously. It has some spread over the frequency spectrum, with a peak in the 400-800 Hz area (I have a Behringer DEQ2496 which makes it easy to tell), but it is not always the same tone or frequency profile. The thing that more or less confirms it as a bug for me is this: when I physically power-cycle my SB by pulling the power plug (effectively rebooting the SB3) the problem is gone again... only to return again at some later stage. I could not find this issue in any bug report, but does anyone know whether this bug has been filed at some point in time? I will disable the fixed volume setting and see if that helps. -- teejay teejay's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9349 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79272 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
