Re: [slim] Playlist menu item missing from devices...
I am also running 7.6.1, but I haven't set Playlists as a top menu item on my ip3k players (SB2, SB3, Boom, etc). What I find strange -- and probably related to your case -- is that Playlists is not even among the items I can add to the home menu via Settings > Player > Menus. So it sounds like a bug to me. A quick search of the bugs database turns up 'Bug 17511' (http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=17511). [slim] Playlist menu item missing from devices...
I customize menus to include Playlists at the top level of the menu structure. For some reason, this menu item doesn't display on any of my devices (SB3, Transporter & Boom) -- scroll through the top level menu and it just jumps from 'New Music' to 'Pandora'. It's there in the player settings for all of them (yes, I hit apply/save). I do have playlists, and can successfully get them to play from the web and iPhone interfaces. This used to work -- seems to be a bug in 7.6.1? Anyone notice the same thing? [slim] AOL Radio -
I used to have a number of AOL Radio stations set up as Favorites pointing to the streaming URL http://provisioning.streamtheworld.com/pls/CBS_R20_xxxP_F128.pls where xxx is the stream number for the station. Unfortunately AOL Radio has terminated their partnership with CBS and has now teamed with Slacker. I wouldn't mind this except the Slacker App on mysb.com has not yet added any of these AOL Radio / Slacker stations, and of course the old streaming URLs no longer work. So does anyone have either (1) news on the AOL feeds being added to the Slacker App for the Squeezebox, or (2) a new url I can use to access the AOL Radio feeds? Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] SqueezeCommander 0.9 for Android
Actually I did mean the slider on the NowPlayingScreen. I just tested it and you're right, moving the slider button doesn't move the screen anymore. It does pop into the PlayerServerScreen when I hold my finger on the slider area (trying to make sure I'm hitting the control), so that's why I hadn't realize it had changed (I guess I figured that I was just getting better at hitting the control). But I can probably retrain myself not to do that. On the PlayerServerScreen, the toggle popup Volume control at the bottom solves the problem. I had forgotten about the hardware buttons. They also work. Re: [slim] Good Squeezebox alternative?
In my opinion, if Logitech want to charge for plugins/apps then so be it where a commercial option is normally available (eg. Spotify) but charging simply for other 'free' services, such as the BBC, etc. would probably kill off user allegiance. Why pay for something which is free elsewhere? Given the actual production cost of the hardware and the end-user price, then a free aggregator service is the least users can expect. -- castalla 1 Touch - cheap unbranded optical cable - old Sony Microsystem - Acoustics Q10 speakers - 2 duff ears - purrfekt! castalla's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15624 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91090 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

My 3 x SB3 and my Boom are the most-used appliances in my whole house! I'm absolutely delighted with them, and can't believe others are looking to replace them! Please, if you find an alternative, sell me your SB3! I want another SB3 but can't find them for love nor money. I've no need for Touch, I just want an SB3! I can't help you with your main problem, but I don't see where having both FLAC and MP3 versions of the tracks forces you into having playlists. Most people, myself included, simply separate the FLACs and the MP3s at the "base" of the folder tree, rather than commingling them in the same folders. If you have some that are MP3-only, that is also easily accommodated via shortcuts or symbolic links. -- aubuti aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91131 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I'm not sure if replacing the Volume slider with the Progress slider makes sense, because that would be pretty confusing for the users. (E.g. if you have some players with fixed volume and some without, then your Progress slider is either on top or on bottom of the page, depending on the selected player.) But the last state of the Overlay (with shuffle/repeat/progress slider) is stored now, i.e. if you've opened the Overlay, it will stay open until you close it. Guten Morgen Pippin. I had a quick look - got to wait for an email back from them with a logon password. I don't necessarily want a themed playlist. Re: [slim] SB server will not understand m3u lists
Your playlist folder (setting below music folder in the web interface) is probably not pointing to a folder containing your playlists or subfolders with playlists. Playlists show up empty in that case. Which server version do you use? Generally I'd say set the playlist folder to the same folder as the music folder but there were some versions of SBS which did not like this, 7.6.0, I believe was one. -- pippin --- see iPeng, the Squeezebox iPhone remote and *New: iPeng for iPad*, at penguinlovesmusic.com pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91131 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] SB server will not understand m3u lists
SB2: Had this problem before and solved it by downgrading my squeezebox/server to about 6 years ago. Then HAD to upgrade back because I bought iPeng on my iPhone and it needed that. Last week I had a strange problem where my server would not see my player, but the network could still ping it. I solved it by downgrading my ply/srv and then upgrading it again. All worked as before. Today suddenly my server would not see my collection anymore, I could still play radio. Rescanning my collection button (E:\audioserver) was just ignored. It just actually did nothing and srv said to me that my collection was not defined (or similar but just in dutch). I solved this my renaming my collection and pointing it to some subfolder, rescanning, resetting folder and name to previous settings and rescan again. But now: my playlists (which I get to by browsing folders) come up empty again. My playlists are simple m3u files that sit in the same folder as the songs example file "_ListFLAC.m3u": 01 -Myrrhman.flac 02 -Ascension Day.flac 03 -After the Flood.flac 04 -Taphead.flac 05 -New Grass.flac 06 -Runeii.flac I HAVE TO use playlists because my collection contain both flac and mp3 versions of the songs (latter for my ipod) and technology will only advance to the stage where songs by mediaplayers are not played twice in about 200 years I guess. Any suggestions to make the playlists work again please? -- Hans Heintz Hans Heintz's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=41159 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91131 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

There are nice sites like http://spotimy.co.uk/ http://www.yourspotify.com/ and many more for which I would have to dig out URLs. Most of them either promote a certain theme or they allow exchange of playlists. You can use it with SqueezeCommander, and it's usable yet slow. But for use with the official Logitech App it's not feasible. I've got one and with the Logitech App it just doesn't work, the old platform is too slow and some things (e.g. loading artwork) just don't work at all. -- pippin --- see iPeng, the Squeezebox iPhone remote and *New: iPeng for iPad*, at penguinlovesmusic.com pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91128 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Exchanging spotify playlists
Hi folks, Anyone fancy posting a few Spotify playlist urls here? I've recently started using Spotify again, and thought maybe these forums might be a good place to exchange playlists and find new music that way. [slim] The perfect Squeezebox remote?
We just got a SonyEricsson Xperia Mini Pro generation II Android phone. Running the official Logitech android app it is just the perfect remote control. I've got two Duet controllers to compare with. The Mini Pro is small enough to carry with you at all times, and it has an excellent keyboard for search etc. The only disadvantage is the screen orientation of the official Logitech android app seems to be portrait exclusively. Would be nice if it went into landscape automatically when opening the keyboard on the Xperia Mini Pro. The previous generation called X10 Mini Pro is on sale everywhere. Quite cheap, and ought to be just as useful, although the screen is plastic. Could be worth the money just as a remote, even if you don't need it as a phone. I'm also hoping the new i'M Watch, which is a Bluetooth and Wifi compatible (at least according to the write ups on various blogs) digital watch running Android 1.6 will be able to run Squeeze Commander on its 240x240 1.54 inch screen. Won't even need a phone to control your Squeezebox anymore. Of course searching will be rather stifling on that device. Now why did I get those two Squeezebox Duet remotes? -- Gadgety1 Gadgety1's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33223 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91128 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
