What I mean by responsiveness is quite a bit of lag in terms of tapping an icon and seeing response(both on screen and server reaction). Song times update every 3-10 seconds at best. Cant effectively scroll songs in playlist. Cant really control volume for same reason. Really slow on swipe down from top (i.e. to get to settings). Hi Bluegaspode, I bought my wife an ipad for Christmas, and to make it a more enjoyable present I downloaded Squeezepad. Excellent app, but need help with one small issue. Using Napster,if I try to use the "search" function, the keyboard pops up as it should, and I type in the artist/track/album I wish to search for. Unfortunately, I can then get no further,as the area I need to "click" on to complete the search is obscured somewhere beneath either the keyboard or the album art of the previously played track. I realise I'm new to the ipad, and I'm probably missing something obvious, but any help appreciated. Trev. It's the character encoding. LMS writes playlists in Unicode (UTF-8 with BOM), while most (all?) other players expect them to be in the current Windows codepage. You can open a playlist in Wordpad (not in Notepad) and save it as a new text file, that should fix it. Strange enough, however, if you create an M3U file from an external application (without the #EXTURL lines), LMS itself expects it to be in Windows encoding, too, and will choke on any UTF-8 characters. Sorry I jumped to a conclusion which is wrong. I didn't check the SBS details but was basing info what you said was in the file and what I remember how SBS parses M3U playlists I think there are two issues 1. The M3U standard is a bit "loose", there is no standard body defining it and some application have "own" extensions added as comments which an m3u processor is supposed to ignore. If there is an "#EXTM3U" then there can be "#EXTINF" to be processed but anything else beginning with a "#" should be ignored. 2. I think SBS expects to read M3U playlists generated by other sources or by SBS. [slim] m3u file format
I have been looking at the m3u file that is created when making a playlist using the squeezebox controller and it doesn't appear to comply with the 'standard'. e.g the first 'header' line created with the squeezebox is #CURTRACK 1 when it should be #EXTM3U. Also there is an extra line for each track preceded by the tag #EXTURL: that the standard doesn't mention. If I take a look at a M3U file created by windows media player 10 it has the #EXTM3U tag and the #EXTINF tags for each track, there are no other tags in the file. I have tried loading a M3U file created with the squeezebox into a program called M3utoASX-WPL11 which purports to be able to convert playlist files to several different formats. This program does not recognised the M3U file created with the squeezebox. [slim] Opening m3u playlists in WMP10
Hi, I am having an infurating time with playlists. I have created a playlist using my squeezebox controller (duet) which is saved in a 'playlist' folder on my server (running WHS - not 2011 version). Everything works as expected from the squeezebox side of things. However, I want to sync/copy the tracks in that playlist to my daughters MP3 player (not apple). So I try to open the playlist in WMP 10 knowing that I can sync a playlist to an MP3 player as I've done it previously. But no matter what I do, WMP will not open the M3U playlist file. All I get is Error ID = 0xC00D11CD, Condition ID = 0x 'Windows media player encountered an unknown error' So where is the problem? WMP or Squeezebox? I use WMP 10 to rip all my CDs to the server, WHS won't let me install a later version of WMP or reinstall the standalone version of WMP10 because it comes with WHS SP2, the standalone install doesn't work. The squeezebox seems to be happy reading playlists created in WMP10 that are in wpl format. Can I get the squeezebox to create playlists in wpl format? Thanks. 1. Try adding -N to command line when starting squeezeslave, you must run it as the root user or use sudo for -N to work. 2. Try adding -y84 to command line in addition to -N. 3. Try using a usb audio dongle to eliminate the possibility that it's the ALSA audio driver for your sound card. This is a bit weird since I find folder.jpg to be the best way to include artwork. I would indeed try to rename to folder.jpg, lowercase, just to try it. Even if the file system is not case sensitive, the scanner might still be. Also, please check your scan information whether the artwork scan really completes. Have you tried a clear&rescan? That said, isn't it just more efficient to have a Folder.jpg in the album's folder so:- a) Squeezeserver can resize it as it wants. b) You don't have the same image repeated over and over in every flac wasting space. c) The image in a flac might not be the ideal size.
