[slim] Playlist length

2012-10-07 Thread Chunkywizard

Hi there

Is there anyway to determine the overall playing time for a playlist,
either in LMS or iPeng? I can't find this information anywhere. I am
trying to create a playlist to run to and would like to get it near my
target time.

Thanks

CW

fully agree, there is only one way to get further support - to give

Connects OK for me using BBCiPlayer, takes ages buffering though.
Format: AAC, Bitrate: 32kbps reported.

Have you tried playing with Server Settings Advanced Network Radio
Timeout etc. to see if it makes any difference?

Re: [slim] Synchronizing stops playback

2012-10-07 Thread johnny b

According to a sales rep in a store that sells Sonos, the reason why I
cannot play synchronized streams of Spotify on multiple players, is that
Logitech does not have an agreement with Spotify to allow for more than
one active stream at a time, since that would be as if one account would
be used by many users. Sonos is the only company that has this agreement
with Spotify. However, that does not make sense since I can play
multiple streams on my players as long as the are not synched. What I
have noticed is that the Logitech Spotify application leaves a lot to
desire. I get very ofter the message that the tune I am trying to play
is not available in my region. When I play the tune directly with
Spotify, I have no problem. The availability of a tune should of course
be the same regardless of on which device I chose to play it. It is sad
that Logitech does not put more focus on this since this is how more and
more music is consumed. Ultimately I think that market shares will be
lost here...

Re: [slim] Synchronizing stops playback

2012-10-07 Thread pippin

You CAN play more than one stream at a time with a Squeezebox, forget
the FUD Sonos is spreading.
It only works with the original SB App, not with the 3rd party plugin,
though, because the latter does use libspotify instead of Logitech's
interface.

It (the 3rd party plugin) does, however, proxy the stream so that synced
playback works.

Yes Jim, that is exactly the functionality that MySB provides and that
functionality you will lose. Logitech has stated that MySB is not going
away anytime soon, but they have not provided timeframes on when/if they
will pull the plug.

As a practice you should choose add to favorites on all of the
stations that you use. If MySB is down you can go to Favorites and all
of your stations will be there. The only caveat is that if the station
changes the address to access the station, then you are out of luck.
Unless someone know of a method to add an address without the aid of
MySB.com.

Re: [slim] Extremely long startup and rescan times

2012-10-07 Thread Omen Wild
Quoting erland erland.5k1...@no-mx.forums.slimdevices.com on Sat, Oct 06
22:03:

Try installing the free Database Query plugin and run the TrackStat
inconsistentcy/problems query and the Squeezebox Server
Inconsistency/Problems, it sounds like the Duplicate entries in
TrackStat statistics and Duplicate musicbrainz song tags entries are
going to indicate issues in your setup.

That was indeed the problem. I turned off `Enable musicbrainz tags' and
dropped and restored the stats and startup speed is now 9 seconds rather
than 2-4 hours. It is a shame to lose musicbrainz support, but I would
rather live without it than live with the long startup/rescan times.

Thank you for your help!

know why Logitech is not fixing this bug? I like to play what I play

Clarify why you can't use the 3rd party plugin. I was able to fully sync
