One small thing with the latest version. As steve-g stated earlier a Clear library and rescan everything resolved the issue w the Bela folders and the other folder that did not have issues that would lead me to believe it would turn up under Various Artists. Why these showed up under Various I have no clue as I have modified numerous folders in the last few days that did not show up under Various Artists As far as the Artist count thing goes I have no clue but wonder if somehow there might be something in Extended Tags that causes it. If only there was a simple way to determine what Artists folders were not picked up. Of course it might be that LMS picks up additional artists due to some tagging issue as well. [slim] iBroadcast plugin - unlimited free storage and streaming of uploaded tunes
I've started using a service called iBroadcast. It offers unlimited free storage of music for streaming to devices, with plans for future premium accounts. No idea what their eventual business model will be, but I asked about possibilities for a plugin for the Squeezebox server and this was the reply: "We're always looking for ways to make our service more usable for our users so we'll definitely look at the Squeezebox server. In the meantime it's worth noting that the calls to our server aren't hidden which means that it's already possible for someone from the community or forum to use those to create an app or plugin like the one you're talking about. If we get enough interest from the forum then we could also look at supporting a native app as well." Note, I don't think their knowledge of LMS is any better than mine!! So, since Google isn't letting us stream from "play music", maybe this might be a good option? So, perhaps some enterprising forum genius could look at make a plugin, since they say it's already open? Please. :) Note: I have no affiliation with the company. I just messaged them on their facebook account. charlesr's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3312 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104601 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Because with your solution you have to connect the phone/tablet/laptop directly to the hifi or speakers in the kitchen etc. to be able to play music. With the chromecast the phone/tablet/latptop tells the chromecast to play the music, it then gets on with it while you continue to use your phone without connecting it to a dock. Assuming a SqueezeCast type Squeezelite player is created - I see two scenarios where convenience is probably the priority. 1. Shared environment - a speaker/audio setup needs to be shared by LMS and phone.table music services. This could be one user or multiple users. Possibly a transition setup where LMS and SB players are being phased out of the setup. 2. Alternative to SB receiver/Raspi/Odroid/Wandboard type player - for non tech user: easy to setup, no DIY, no maintenance, cheap . bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104383 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I have yet to find anything here or elsewhere that explains what it could do for me that a laptop/tablet/mobile couldn't do on its own, and yet with this I seem to need it plus a laptop/tablet/mobile to drive it, which seems absurd, so I've failed to see any purpose in it.
