Re: [slim] Which Paid Controler App for Android?

2016-04-17 Thread Antilope

I had been using the stock Logitech android app with my Android 4.4
phone and tablet.

I recently got an Android 5.1 phone and tablet and the stock Logitech
android app no longer works to control my Squeezebox radios.

I bought Orange Squeeze and it works perfectly with my Android 5.1
Lollipop phone and and tablet. In addition, it also works perfectly with
my older Android 4.4 tablet.

I mainly use Orange Squeeze along with mysqueezebox.com to play my
favorite radio stations, etc.

I wish there were decent apps for the UE smart radio (similar to Orange
Squeeze). I have two Squeezebox radios, one with the Squeezbox firmware
and one that I converted to the UE Smart Radio firmware (mainly to
access IHeartRadio). The Logitech UE Smart Radio app leaves much to be
desired.

Re: [slim] SiriusXM Support Through ickStream

2016-04-17 Thread boolittlek

I give up. I had planned on trying my iPad with the Chromecast option
then realized: (a) the SiriusXM app isn't supported by Chromecast; and
(b) casting from a tab isn't available using the Chrome app on my iPad
(I'd have to use the Chrome browser on my laptop).

I also had no luck with Airplay bridge (the settings page keeps
repeating that the configuration file is missing) and ShairTunes2
(plugin failed to load). Very frustrating.

Re: [slim] Remote Access to LMS Options

2016-04-17 Thread epoch1970

Then Wonton's suggestion (post #10) is creative and could bring you the
web interface. And since you're home, it might be easy enough to
enable/disable the port forwarding rule on your gateway just for the
moments you need "remote" access to LMS.

Yes you should basically not change any file type settings unless you
have to solve a problem in a special setup , for most people LMS just do
the rigth thing rigth out of the box .

I just wonder if OP can test if 24/96 really get transcoded ? it should
not in his case .

Or he may have as you say disabled "native" for flac etc :) there are
some in whos believe system you should send pcm/wav to the player ,
which is nonsense . but the effect is transcoding for any flac file .

Re: [slim] Remote Access to LMS Options

2016-04-17 Thread pablolie

Yes, I do control LMS stuff with my tablet, which of course is connected
to my home environment. Would be nice to just have it in a browser
window, since I am on a computer (albeit in a different domain)
altogether. And yes the VPN I use tunnels *everything* into the
corporate environment. Cisco AnyConnect is not just a VPN, it's also a
security client and hence quite dictatorial, at least the way we have it
configured.

Like Mnyb stated - there's a bug in the way LMS reports higher bitrates.
Ignore it. Just make sure that under Settings>Advanced>File Types you
have your relevant stuff set up to "Native". Then you can be sure your
SB is doing it's best to stay true to the original, which is 192-24 with
the Touch, and I think it's 96-24 with classic versions. From that point
on it's your DAC's capabilities that kick in, LMS and the SB provided an
error free digital path. :-)
