Just read that post, thank you. I will mostly be working headless through ssh anyway. Exept for the ripping. That's how I handle my existing LMS dedicated Box already. I have a few tweaks applied to my VB which I would recommend you look into I heavily modified the ripping config file - etc/ripit/config - to use an artist/album structure, dispense with .m3u playlist files and some over stuff. The instructions for this are still available in the Vb wiki at http://wiki.vortexbox.org/cd_how-to_s I also switched off immediate re-scanning of my library as I found that the headless nature of the CD rip could throw up problems from time to time that I wanted the opportunity to correct before re-scanning. I roughly assembled the machine to test VortexBox 2.4. Runs smoothly, did also some test rips. Looks good, muich easier for casual ripping (my CD library is completely ripped already, so I would only do a CD from time to time). I also noticed that 2.4 comes already with LMS 7.9. Which is nice--but I haven't got any update messages yet. I assume, it updated to the latest nightly when I first updated VortexBox after the initial install.
