Phillipes AirplayBridge is relatively simple to use. His upnpbridge is not anywhere near as simple (nothing to do with his coding - just the fact that upnp as a protocol is crap). I have taken delivery today of a Wiim Mini but not yet unboxed it. After I have Ill let you know whether it is a real contender. chicks who recommended it today told me that it does work with the airplay bridge but that as far as the upnpbridge is concerned he had to disable gapless which for me is a no no. But it could still be an option. If you see an Airplay2 device that interests you, you could ask in these forums if anyone has been able to use it with LMS. I think the greatest thing about the "Logitech Squeezebox Environment" is we are spoilt with options. Luckily, there is always something or someone, to fill a gap or offer an alternative. I can say from my own experience that the Group Players plugin works very well. I think it's likely to be more satisfactory than a plugin that's had no active development in the past 13 years. Re: [slim] Whatever happened to TheSynchronizer plugin??
Easy first step .. try the Groups plugin from the plugin list. Easy to install and active support. Paul Webster author of \"now playing\" plugins covering radio france (fip etc), planetradio (bauer - kiss, absolute, scala, jazzfm etc), kcrw, abc australia and cbc/radio-canada and, via the extra \"radio now playing\" plugin lots more - see https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?115201-announce-radio-now-playing-plugin Paul Webster's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=105 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=117060 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Whatever happened to TheSynchronizer plugin??
sherington wrote: > Thank you both for responding .. how would I install the plugin if I had > to do it manually, so to speak?? I think this should work: First, download the zip file from GitHub: https://github.com/koldinger/Synchronizer/archive/refs/heads/master.zip Next, check the LMS Settings page in the default web interface. Near the bottom of the page, you should see "Plugin Folders," followed by a list of paths to folders. One of them, probably the first will be in Installed Plugins, in the server's cache folder. On my Linux system it looks like this: /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins. DO NOT USE THIS FOLDER! Use one of the other folders. On my system, manually installed plugins go here: /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/Plugins. Unzip the plugin zip file in this directory, maintaining the zip's directory structure. When finished your plugin directory should contain a subdirectory named Synchronizer-master. Inside that subdirectory you should find two more subdirectories, HTML and lib, as well as three files: install.xml, README, and strings.txt. Restart LMS. Just to be safe, hold off a few hours before doing this, to see if anybody corrects obvious mistakes in my directions! Just my two cents here, but I noticed you have a wireless network config similar to mine, running Unifi antennas. One of the biggest thing that helped in my case was to disable band steering which was systematically causing sync dropouts when the access point was trying to push either player into the 5ghz band. Unless you've already figured out the root cause, you should probably give that a shot. LMS 7.9 - 1xRadio, 1xBoom, 5xDuet,3xTouch, 1 SB2.
