We know how to do gapless, I believe, it's just work.
Squeezeslave doesn't help me. I mean: the source code is open and I can
look up everything I want as I can do on SqueezeSlave. However, we can't
use anything from SqueezeSlave since it's GPL'ed. Read up on GPL and App
 Store.

Sorry for the late response.

Oh I see! I guess the squeezecast author must be in violation of the
lisence agreement then. Hope you find a solution that doesn't cause too
much grief.

I've been using iPeng on my iPad and iPhone overseas accessing my music
in Southern california just great. Thanks again!

Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] Playback comes to iPeng

2011-02-19 Thread Line

Thanks for the playback feature pippin!

Just a heads up, there is an app out there called squeezecast with
gapless playback, i think its based off of the squeezeslave binary.
(sadly this means it inherits its flaws too, i.e. sped up playback on
strange frequencies like those found on radio streams)

Perhaps a chat with its creator could give you some insight on how to
implement gapless playback into ipeng! Best of luck.

Re: [slim] ANNOUNCE: iPeng for iPad - Your Squeezebox Remote Gets Big

2010-12-02 Thread Line

I'd also like to report erratic behavior after the 4.2.1 update. After
resuming the program via app switching connection will sometimes not be
reestablished with the Squeezebox server.

The sort icons for list view and cover view are mangled and squished up
into the corner on New Music as well as the play selection modes on the
Music folder section.

Random crashes and folder art disappearing after an app switch are also
symptoms.

I am connecting to a remote squeezebox server outside of my network,
but the iPhone version and the previous iPad version did not suffer
from these issues with the same network and hardware configuration
(granted I wasn't app switching [iPhone 3G]).

Looking forward to the next patch!

Re: [slim] iPeng on iPad - How should it look like?

2010-10-18 Thread Line

Bought this magnificent app and use it constantly. Thanks pippin. If I
could nitpick, a darker theme may provide for a less stark contrast
between the screen border and the UI. But regardless A+

I had always wanted to know which disc number a current track came from
but knew it would take up a bit of space to achieve it on ipeng for
iPhone. Now that we have more real estate perhaps this can become a
reality?

Re: [slim] Streaming tunes to iPad

2010-10-04 Thread Line

If you are on ubuntu 64-bit apt-get install flac, lame ia32-libs

The ia32-libs took me a week to discover, good luck!

But as someone else mentioned, get squeezey. It's gapped playback and
mp3 streaming, but 320kbps transcoding + 0 (highest quality) under the
settings sounds great on my iPad.

Keep in mind i jail broke my iPad and use the backgrounder app to
multitasking with squeezey

Re: [slim] IPAD users - 2nd app appears in store

2010-10-02 Thread Line

Wel, since my government says I can jailbreak my iPad now (bahaha) I
am able to run this application in the background. It, coupled with
Squeezepad and iPeng has made me a very happy person.

I can now access my music in Southern California from Cairo through my
iPad, anywhere I want.

VICTORY! Gapped playback and 320kbps won't kill me for now.

This is exactly what I've been looking for, bluegaspode please
incorporate that page swiping to the album art for playlist and player
management. Well, that would be a lot like iPeng... hmm.

Pippin seems to be keen on the idea but I understand if you aren't down
to encroach on that design.

Regardless, keep up the good work! I've invested in both products and
would do so again, I use them hourly.

I am preparing a mix for a house party and set the server to play in
shuffle. The iPad will be just sitting on a table for others to view
and perhaps mess around with. So I was thinking the shuffle and repeat
buttons would be useful.

But that also brings up another point, is there a way a party mode
could be implemented that allows people limited functionality unless
they input a password? So people aren't fooling around and
modifying/deleting playlists or wreaking other havoc? That could be
held for a much later release though, no rush.

Hey Ralphy, I use squeezeslave everyday on linux and win32, it is
indespensible for me.

You commented earlier in another post that ASIO was coming to win32
which is excellent. Does libportaudio also have support for WASAPI? That
would be the ultimate in bit-matched playback for windows correct?

 Does anything else work?

I just performed an ubuntu 9.04 apt-get remove --purge and apt-get
install of squeezeboxserver and let it run its initial scan of the
library over (local music). Everything seems to be working fine now!

I guess what I may have done wrong last time was to install extensions
and restart the server, interrupting the initial scan which messed up
the database entries?

Anywho, thanks for the update pippin!

Congratulaitons on the new update!

We're the CLI commands to play songs changed? I am using squeezeslave
0.9 for win32 and now after upgrading to 7.4 and ipeng 1.2 when i click
on an album cover or song it will just load an empty playlist and
nothing happens.

I can use the web based controls just fine, but not ipeng.
