I resolved this by allowing full disk access to Perl - all good for all Music (ex-iTunes) tracks now :) Just sharing in case anyone else is suffering from this annoyance. Interesting you should mention the unreliability of the Squeeze Network. I had a similar problem a few weeks ago and switched to SqueezeCenter which seemed to resolve it - up until now that is. My connection is a mixed 802.11/g and 802.11/n wireless network. The SqueezeCenter is running on an iMac three levels downstairs (802.11/n). The Boom operating my alarm clock is connected to SqueezeCenter. However, my brand-spanking new Boom is connected to Squeeze Network (because I seem to be able to configure the menu stuff which I can't seem to do using SqueezeCenter) and works fine (closer to 802.11/g network hub) - this works just fine. So in essence, there's no solution as yet. I'll have another play tonight and update the post when I have something positive to report ... -- MrBrillo MrBrillo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=29831 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63826 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] SB Boom - Alarm clock problem
Further to the last post, I can now report a complete and utter failure of the alarm clock function. This is what happened: 1. Again checked the alarm - 6:30 to play just the one radio station 2. Z 3. Body clock woke me around 6:25am - waited 4. 6:30am - the display changes on the SB to show reduced font, date and time - no music or noise whatsoever 5. Had a shower 6. Return 10 minutes later to see the SB still displaying 6:30am - no noise 7. Couldn't adjust volume, or select a favourite - nothing Seems to me this piece of hardware has some fundamental operational issues. Surely this just shouldn't happen - it's all been fine up until: 1. I introduced an additional SB Boom and 2. I adjusted the time from 6:15 to 6:30 Do I need a degree in Boomology to use this? -- MrBrillo MrBrillo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=29831 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63826 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Thanks for your feedback. The station I'm tuned into is a non radiotime one - I chose it from the worldwide selection. I'll wait and see what happens tomorrow morning. If it goes off at 6:15 again, then I'll do a mains reset. -- MrBrillo MrBrillo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=29831 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63826 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] SB Boom - Alarm clock problem
Primarily using my first SB Boom as an alarm clock (I purchased another one just yesterday for the main lounge downstairs - brilliant!). Problem: the Alarm clock was originally set to 6:15am, which woke me at the prescribed time with my choice of radio station (Radio New Zealand). Decided that this was too early, and need more 'zzz so adjusted the alarm to wake me at 6:30am instead. The alarm went off at 6:15 this morning! Double-checked the settings: only 1 alarm set - Monday thru to Friday, 6:30am. Could this be a caching problem with the SB? -- MrBrillo MrBrillo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=29831 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63826 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
