Re: [slim] iPeng on iPad?
I find web ui performance fine too, although I do use Chrome for it. The iPad is a rather bizarre looking thing, like they thought they'd just supersize an iPhone. Not too sure if that's the right way forward. As for no multi-tasking - I nearly fell off my chair. Agree with Pipin that not multitasking has helped the iPhone succeed (although i have a jailbroken one and use the Backgrounder app regularly), but if I buy an iPad I would be reaching for it instead of the laptop as I sit on the couch and if it can't multitask it is much less useful than it could be. -- havoc1 havoc1's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33466 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74572 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] The competition is catching up and some surpassing Squeezebox...fast!
Totally agree about the statement about the NAS 'obsession'. It's a nice idea but surely a pain in the arse to actually get and keep working well. Regarding these other solutions - I don't see any of them having a ghettoblaster form factor, which is surely a huge part of the Squeezebox appeal. I presume the OP was being provocative. -- havoc1 havoc1's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33466 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74510 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Is This Normal?
Ooops, I did it again, bought a Squeezebox Classic from PC World. Only one in there, it's been languishing on the shelf for months. They had Radios for £140 and a single Boom at £150. This was in Braehead, Glasgow. They really are very focused on the mp3s docks in there though, that and DAB radios. I guess they are a lot easier for people to understand. Good call on Ripcaster - that's a good website. I got my Boom from PC World, which also had a solitary Classic at the same time. It blows me away that these products aren't more widely available and marketed.
