Re: [slim] Audacy/Radio/CBS .coms
I am glad that this info helped someone else. Thanks for the thanks. I am so thrilled to have air play working on all of my squeezeboxes. This also allows me to get Sirius XM back playing on them, also. There is one other method to get Audacy stations onto some of your devices: Bluetooth. If you use your browser to find the individual stations (instead of using the app) you can use Bluetooth to broadcast it to speakers or other devices. When I tried this for KOOL (Phoenix) I found that there happens to be numerous stations with that name; so, searching for KOOL audacy found it at the top of the list, of course. For example, I mostly read books using the Kindle or Libby app on my iPads; so using Google to search, get the station playing, going to Bluetooth on the iPad, connecting to my receiver, it plays fine. Double click, back to the book. phb (3 Booms, 2 SB3, 1 Rec'vr, 2 Controllers, 2xTouch, 2 Radios (1UE), iPeng : itouch & iPad, Squeezepad, 2 SoundBridge R1000s, NEW pCP Server + pCP Player) pbroughton's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30993 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=116933 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Audacy/Radio/CBS .coms
BPA had it almost correct. Thanks for the lead. I found that Audacy has purchased streaming rights from WideOrbit Digital Audio Streaming. I also learned that the new URLs for the several stations I listen to are as follows: http://live.wostreaming.net/direct/audacy-knxammp3-imc http://live.wostreaming.net/direct/audacy-kfrchd2mp3-imc http://live.wostreaming.net/direct/audacy-kcbsammp3-imc http://live.wostreaming.net/direct/audacy-koolhd3mp3-imc It appears that the actual station call letters are combined with a verbal branding phrase that you would hear during a broadcast and/or some branding words or phrases you could see on the Audacy web site for the station. For example, Kools brand saying is now "KOOL HD3" -- this distinguishes it from the other KOOL iterations. Same with KFRC-HD2. In the case of KNX, for example, for decades it was an AM station branded with the phrase, "KNX AM 1070". (Now, it is also FM). So, if you have a station you want to use as a favorite, youll have to play around a little with the letters that follow the station call letters to get your URL. If you have listened to the station for a long time, you might have it in your memory from hearing it so often. Or, not!! Interesting that they are not https. And look a little odd. They do work fine and even on the old tech SoundBridge R-1000 radio which can only use URLs to play the internet radio without using SlimServer. phil phb (3 Booms, 2 SB3, 1 Rec'vr, 2 Controllers, 2xTouch, 2 Radios (1UE), iPeng : itouch & iPad, Squeezepad, 2 SoundBridge R1000s, NEW pCP Server + pCP Player) pbroughton's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30993 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=116933 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Audacy/Radio/CBS .coms
Thank you both for taking the time to research and comment. As of now I am using a retired iPhone to Shair Tunes2 (thank you, Philippe !!) from the Audacy app to the relevant sb receivers. This works fine, except that the Audacy app is really poorly done too busy and quite flakey, even when I save the four stations I use as favorites. Intertingly, the announcements on the radio station sites, using the URLs, have changed to a more dire warning and encouraging listeners to download the free Audacy App! as I have, and I got what I paid for. Thanks again. phil phb (3 Booms, 2 SB3, 1 Rec'vr, 2 Controllers, 2xTouch, 2 Radios (1UE), iPeng : itouch & iPad, Squeezepad, 2 SoundBridge R1000s, NEW pCP Server + pCP Player) pbroughton's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30993 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=116933 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

You will need help from someone not in EU (or at least appearing to be not in EU) as they have blocked access to their sites from EU. Paul Webster author of \"now playing\" plugins covering radio france (fip etc), planetradio (bauer - kiss, absolute, scala, jazzfm etc), kcrw, abc australia and cbc/radio-canada and, via the extra \"radio now playing\" plugin lots more - see https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?115201-announce-radio-now-playing-plugin Paul Webster's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=105 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=116933 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Audacy/Radio/CBS .coms
I have several internet stations that I listen to daily or often. On KNX this morning there was a very subtle announcement to the effect that the stream will not be available anymore in the near future. Over the years I have been able to hunt and peck around until I found the new stream as these formerly CBS stations changed from owner to owner, changing the steams several times. Neither the CBS nor the Radio.com apps work anymore on LMS, so unless (Michael??) some excellent programmer could write an Audacy app for LMS, or some other talented LMS user can decode the Audacy app url streams, I will be out of luck with easy access to these stations by just clicking 1 or 3 on my Boom remote control. I know that there are work arounds using at least one more device to get the Audacy app to my players, such as Line In, Air Play, etc. but I really just want to press 1 and then plug in the coffee maker. Any advice or guidance? Thanks in advance!
